First Morel, by Amy Fleury Up from wood rot, wrinkling up from duff and homely damps, spore-born and cauled like a meager seer, it pushes aside earth to make a small place from decay. Bashful, it brings honeycombed news from below of the coming plenty and everything rising.

Down to 30 F last night. It ran yesterday and is starting to pick up today. Just fired up the arch. Forecast for mid 60s F today — too hot, too quick.

Hard frost last night. Thanks to all of you in warmer climes for posting pics of flowers. These are Icelandic poppies — aka Hope for the future!

These days of unseasonable warmth took away the snow from my garden quickly. The overwintered spinach looks great! The blanket of snow kept it snug!

Went down to Boston this weekend to catch a Fleet game at Agannis Arena. Excellent energy from the sold out crowd. Exciting game — Fleet down 0-2 to the Victoire in the first, but came back to tie it. Sadly, they lost in overtime.

Making a scarf. My second ever weaving project.

Yum! Results of the first boil from our small 52 tap operation.

Day started with rain. Turned to snow. Cardinals are singing. An apt day for a first boil.

Sad to see the x-c skiing coming to an end - a winter with enough snow has been lovely. This, though, is sweet recompense.

A lovely snowshoe. Sadly, it is now raining.
