This week I have done 2 days completely just me in the class (usually have a lovely LSA some of the time) and we’ve been on a trip. I still wasn’t brave enough to get the paints out though…

Went on a trip to a power station today. One of the most beautiful buildings I have ever been in.

October is obviously the best month but there’s something lovely about May when everything is starting to bloom again.

🧵 #1 We gave you some of our children’s highlights, so here are some highlights from our #SIGNED fiction First up, we have THE BOOK OF RECORDS by Madeleine Thien @grantabooks.bsky.social - a work of huge originality, which shows the Booker-shortlisted writer at her most ambitious #BookSky📚💙 👇🏻

This is an awful lot of pre-summer before actual summer. It’s making me worry what actual summer will be like. It’ll either be far too much actual summer, or not much actual summer at all.

After the ducklings we now have oyster catcher chicks! (One of the classrooms overlooks the planter where they are, nobody went near them.)

i'm sorry, i do just kind of think you're a bad person if you value human lives differently based on where they were born.

We started learning about the ocean zones today. So we watched the episode of Octonauts where they go through the different zones. Utter silence for 11 minutes and I got to listen to David Tennant.

"..You have the right to be angry sometimes" - Little My, character in the Moomin books by Tove Jansson who first appeared in 1950. She is small, determined, mischievous and fiercely independent and partly based on the author herself. #WomensArt #Monday

Went for a kayak. The dog tried out various modes of transport!

Emma is one of the wisest voices in UK Primary education and its bizarre that she doesn't have more followers here on Bluesky. Do yourself a favour, read this blog and give her a follow.

I like this walk because you start off in the woods and end up on the sea cliffs.

This started off as one tiny flower. It’s got about 40 buds ready to come out just now.

Fox Lane Books also have a sale on at the moment. Go and check them out! 📚💙

I don’t find many Maths picturebooks, so glad this one is so good. “ZERO. The Number That Almost Wasn’t” by @sarahalbee.bsky.social and #ChrisHsu is a brilliant accessible romp through the history of Zero. Traversing the globe it explore how it didn’t and then did come to be…#PicturebookPage

Tonight's sunset on Argyle Street in the West End of Glasgow. On the left is the Kelvin Hall, built in 1926, while on the right is the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum, completed in 1901. #glasgow #architecture #sunset #glasgowtoday #glasgowsunset #kelvingrove #kelvinhall #kelvingroveartgallery

The ducklings appeared on one of the days I don’t work at that school. I have had MANY videos and photos from an excited member of staff.

The view from my wee school does make me happy.

4/12 33% done! Atmospheric fog this morning, colder than last week, no deer today. Did manage the wee hill in my big gear so a bit of progress.

I’ve been full time since we came back this term. But in 2 different classes. My head is very full.

Took my Cairngorms-set book on the road across the #Cairngorms today. Ballater, Crathie and Braemar schools. #authorvisit @cairngormsnews.bsky.social @cairngormsceo.bsky.social @cairngormsconnect.bsky.social

One of our current maternity wing residents popped out after school. She is MUCH quieter than the oyster catchers.

Love @isabelthomas.co.uk’s non-fiction books. “Frog” is her third book with #DanielEgneus and it is equally ambitious. This time they look at the story of life on our planet from the initial spark till creating complex life-forms. Brilliant. PicturebookPage @bloomsburybooksuk.bsky.social 1/2…

Oof, this term is long. The thought that there are 8 weeks after this one is a big thought.

The Greens now have nearly 200 more councillors than Reform. This is not something you'd be likely to guess from all the copiously salivating media coverage of Farage & his crew of billionaire-backed far-right chancers.

We’ve done birthday things today. Swim in an outdoor pool and a picnic.

Sundays without Mondays are quite nice.

It’s funny how many hours are involved with this. Nice hours though.
