Quite a bit of detail here. It's kind of worse that they want to pay him less, commit to the minimum term and reduce his status in the squad. All the moral damage for a player they're explicitly saying they'll value less next year.

I'd say more precisely that we have people going all in on the idea that self-discipline is about having what it takes to dunk your head in a bowl of ice water every morning rather than having what it takes to treat someone different from you like a human being.

Can't be annoyed with the Partey news AND remain an Arsenal fan, apparently. That team you developed an irrational emotional bond to? Turns out it was just a slow-burning referendum on rape laws. BUT there's a way out. If you decide he's probably innocent, you get to be a morally unburdened Gooner.

I’m agree with Diane Abbott on this. If people want to vote for Reform they will. There are no populist depths Labour can sink to that will attract a Reform voter because the idea of them being ‘left wing’ is set in their minds. So they might as well do good stuff & stop alienating the rest of us.

This is basically my transfer-related conclusion from the season, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was Arteta's too. We've successfully brought in players that allow us to compete with the best teams, but it's felt like we need more of a flat track bully side.

America is the enemy, I'm afraid. And ultimately, while Trump and his Christian white nationalist buddies are the villains of the piece, they can only get away with it because insufficient American voters actually care about this.

If Berta's first act is to renew Thomas Partey then I hope his second act is fucking all the way off.

But criticising Israel is antisemitic, apparently.

Dreamt Andrew Arshavin was taking our third penalty in a shoot out vs PSG. Can't tell you if he scored as I scared me awake.

If Arsenal took half as many risks in the final third as they do in their own half, they'd score a lot more and win more.

Don't care that they don't care: the attitude tonight has been shite.

The best thing that can come from that half is Eze's goal convincing us to sign him. It might as well be a trial, for all the intensity we're playing with.

lol wow

Someone on Threads noticed you can type any random sentence into Google, then add “meaning” afterwards, and you’ll get an AI explanation of a famous idiom or phrase you just made up. Here is mine

All this, and RFK Jr stigmatising neurodivergecy, is hideous. But it's especially so when you consider to what extent trans rights were the thin end of the wedge, and the scenes at Westminster yesterday.

David Allen Green responding to Phil Costa about Axel Disasi. This is quite the crossing of the streams.

On a separate note, this is Bournemouth's league form since putting 4 past Newcastle and 5 past Forest at the end of January. They're 10 points off 5th now and only have themselves to blame.

I know we should be hoping City drop out of the CL, but I'd given up on that since the 5th qualifying spot was added. So, in truth, I'm just absolutely delighted by the thought that Villa might miss out.

Been having similar thoughts today. He was so happy to use her to score points, and now he's siding with those who seek to marginalise and persecute people like her.
