“Give me a lever long enough and a fulcrum on which to place it, and I shall move the world.” Archimedes "Give me appropriate levels of staffing and an Emergency Department with clinical space, and I shall meet your 4 hour target." Farbod

Me in 1999: “That South Park movie was wacky, imagining an American imperialism so deranged that they decide to invade Canada in a crusade of censorship. 😂” Me in 2025: 😐

GREAT news for nuclear incident youtube

This was exactly how British media responded to fascism in 1939, by the way. They were either indifferent or vocally supportive up until it had material consequences for them.

must be baffling for the Guardian US writers to have to run this piece and realize during fact-checking that every single bonkers headline they're citing was published by the Guardian UK

Wes Streeting is happy to privatise the NHS unless the private partners are actually, you know, helping people. This started with gender affirming healthcare. They are now coming for ADHD treatment. If this doesn't affect you already, it will soon. adhduk.co.uk/nhs-right-to...

These are bad numbers if you're trans but even worse if you're a terf in the media. Ten years of concentrated effort inducing a moral panic and you've shifted the needle a few percent. Embarrassing.

pretty incredible to publish this official executive order days before the largest deadly air crash in nearly 20 years occurs

Let's all take a minute to honour the memory of the galaxy-brained founding fathers who accidentally created a political position with more unchecked unilateral power than the literal kings they were desperate to replace had

Mr Beast was born in the wrong generation. He would have been an amazing 1950s scientist. 'We put a guy in a pit for a week to see what happens' is so stanford prison experiment coded

My beef with people who can read is and always will be strictly personal.

Israel has killed 80 Palestinians since announcing the ceasefire and now has the audacity to say Hamas are the ones creating a ‘last-minute crisis.’ This is the nature of barbaric oppression, played out in full colour for all to see. If you don’t understand this, you are inhuman.

Extremely bold choice for @rcn.org.uk to let the responses speak for themselves on this, but it's effective. Corridor 'care' isn't care. Don't let yourself get used to it. This isn't normal and it can't go on. www.rcn.org.uk/Professional...

I'm sorry what

just seen nosferatu. why are we making a movie about how women should never be horny in 2025

wait do we know for sure which one zuck was referring to

I'm deadly serious about this: if you're a nurse thinking of picking up these bank shifts, don't. Corridor 'care' isn't care. It happens when we let it happen.

Really wish we would stop exacerbating the issue by blaming the attendances. The number of people coming to ED has increased, but that's a symptom of the wider problems with our crumbled healthcare system. They aren't dismantling the NHS. It's already dismantled.

Feel Good Inc is 20 years old which means that it's now as distant as that 80s compilation CD that I used to sit in front of the hifi and listen to on repeat was when it came out

If your self worth relies on a fantasy of man taming beast, put your money where your mouth is and show us what you've got without dogs or horses helping you. You get lathered in fox bait, a ten minute head start, and you're allowed only your underwear and that stupid trumpet

Partner is explaining to me that every team plays football on boxing day. All of them. Apparently you have to choose which games to watch. Hear me out: four team games.

Got some possibly hazardous hot sauces for christmas and tried one of them for breakfast. 10/10 stim but it's 10am and I am already in gastric distress. Think it's a record.

Thinking about that time that South Holland District Council (England) were so fed up with being confused with the Dutch South Holland that they got themselves a distinctive flag to cement their visual identity. To ensure there was no ambiguity, they went with tulips and canals.

Naturally stopped using both this app and the other app on a daily basis and oh boy is my life better for it

I’m printing this out and rolling a joint with it

In both Cass and Bell v Tavistock, they're pretty clear that trans kids are just supposed to grow out of it. Most kids who receive PBs do not grow out of it. Therefore, PBs are a failed intervention. They measure failure by the number of trans kids who continue on to trans adulthood.
