Hear bloody hear

We have had nearly two decades of panic about Free Speech on Campus and not a single case, not even the ones they made up, were as bad as what's happening now

“Are we nearly there yet?” asked some followers like bored youngsters on a car journey. Yes, we are there. Post on why this is now a constitutional crisis.

Your resident cat has not been asleep! I have been prowling elsewhere - but not by choice. That unspeakable man (the one who thinks he rules the world) has been causing massive problems for all the aid workers - not just those from his own country. Aid saves lives!

"Warm" is not an appropriate description of 39'C and the forecast for tomorrow is 42'C. Send rain please!

Flattening empty packing boxes is supposed to be satisfying but I am just worried about what I do with all the cardboard if nobody else wants them - and making sure I manage to transfer the internet connection over at the end of the week. I think there is something wrong about this.

I went over a bump. The chain came off the trusty trike. I cannot turn it upside down to get it on again. I was trying to walk it past a building site...and suddenly had no less than four males interested in getting the chain on again. I felt quite honoured!

It is hot here and the birds are behaving like small children darting in and out of the sprinkler. One of the sparrows just landed on my left foot. I wonder if s/he was saying "thank you"? I must keep their water bowls full.

This is the sort of good fun Christmas should be - forget the too much food and expensive presents. Even this silly cat can answer some of these! My thanks to Fiona Dolman

I may have time to write more after I have moved in 2025 - in the meantime thanks to Lev Parikian for the bird songs and Emma Darwin for reminding me writing needs to be done (and everyone for being there when I most needed you!) Merry Christmas (or whatever you celebrate) from the Antipodes Cat

It is currently 37'C - which is much too hot to be thinking about Christmas!

Is it really the first of December? What happened to the rest of this year? Could we start over again and do 2024 differently please? I have achieved absolutely nothing.... I still have the Christmas short story to write and the cats are not telling me what it is supposed to be about!

I found a tiny pewter spoon today. There was a mouse at the top of it. Where it came from is a mystery. What do you do with such things? It makes packing the house even more difficult.

For those of you following the proposed ban on under 16s using social media - the power to do so under the Constitution is questionable. The proposed legislation is also at odds with more than one international treaty to which our country is a signatory.

And now I have contents insurance - for a place I yet to obtain the keys! It paid to do a little hunting around - one place was three times the cost of another for exactly the same level of cover...hopefully I will not need to use it.

Getting there I think...this house looks so bare. "Clutter" is surely what turns a house into a home - especially "book clutter"!

I think I have it! The offer on the unit (flat/apartment) has been accepted. Now all I need to do is cobble together the finance!

purrlease keep your mental paws crossed for me - I have an offer in for a place that might just come good today. I really need it to work this time!

I need to start posting more here - but currently moving from big family home to tiny one. It is so hard giving away books I love...and finding time to write is even harder. But "something will turn up"!

Putting a paw up and cautiously looking over the parapet. This is another learning curve for a curious cat
