Every significant nowfall, the City plow first pushes the snow to my side of the street before burying the hydrant in front of my house on its second pass. Almost every year, I need to send a 311 request since manually clearing the hydrant is an unreasonable expectation. Sometimes, they respond.

Please take a moment to appreciate how the sidewalk in this photo has been cleared, because yes, this is a "cleared" sidewalk in Ottawa. Where I live, I still had to walk on the road, because it was more walkable than the cleared sidewalk. Strollers and mobility devices cannot navigate this.
