Cleaning my old bike and getting ready to sell it, took it for a quick ride and felt both nostalgic for the bike that made me realise just how important bike lanes are but also thankful I now have a significantly better bike

Was considering trying to figure out how to make a google maps style app for finding bicycle parking (The AT database doesn't include any bike racks owned by private businesses) but as it turns out you can just add bike racks on Google Maps so I'll just do that from this point forward

With Mount Smart finally having proper bike parking, the next A league game I'm going to I'll cycle there! Or cycle + train depending on how confident I'm feeling. They're at gates A, B and C if I remember right

Calling all city nerds! We are beyond excited to announce we are hosting, live, IRL, actually here in Tāmāki Makaurau, the undefeated champion of chill data-rich urban rankings himself Ray Delahanty @nerd4cities.bsky.social Thursday 27th Feb deets here: www.greaterauckland.org.nz/2025/02/21/q...

A new Pak N save is opening pretty close to where I live, and it will have bicycle parking! I will check it out and give a small review + how cyclable it is

How good is this? The port in Akl. 😍👏👏 📸: X/@petermcglashan

test train go bye bye into tunnel

As a tech freak, it's warming to hear Marama Davidson's 'Right To Repair' members bill passing its first reading. More horrifying though is ACT's Todd Stephenson speaking against it, from almost the same angles Apple has used when it was appealing against the EU.

I don't often talk about #F1 here but I must have to say, Doohan isn't even gonna make it to Melbourne is he

I love Ōtautahi

Not every day you catch the first bus in service

Glen Innes is currently undergoing a minor upgrade, wasn't able to take pics unfortunately but looks like a repaint and new signs and station maps that look pretty good!

'Everyone must go!' is pretty terrible for a marketing strategy, especially whilst advertising a country where everyone is leaving

Forgot how much I don't like Christchurch's metrocard. Despite its amazing appearance, the fact that I needed to find the receipt from when I bought it (which thank goodness I kept it) in order to register it online isn't great at all. And you HAVE to have this code to register the card online.

Real men don’t barricade women and children. Real men don’t threaten and intimidate. Real men don’t preach hate. Real men DO show respect, compassion & love. Real men are comfortable enough in who they are to celebrate the diversity of others. Brian Tamaki you are just a boy.

Recently went on the brand new Point Chevalier cycleways! Very impressed with the quality and smoothness of the cycleway, how safe it feels, and how I don't feel like I need to slow down (much) at intersections with cars! Fantastic job from AT, wishing for many more cycleways like this one

Noticing how fragmented conversations are, I'm considering making a starter pack to NZ urbanism, transit and cycling accounts. Any ideas on who to add?

As posted by @mrjkirwan.bsky.social on Twitter, the first test train has officially gone through the southbound CRL tunnel!! Awesome to see the progress of this project and looking forward to its opening!
