👇🇺🇸 Trump caught in a lie and corrected live by Macron

Macron, with Trump scowling next to him, says "the aggressor is Russia"

Mark Alford (R-MO): Elon Musk has contracts with the federal government, but he is also, I think, doing an effective job at weeding out the waste, abuse, and fraud in the government. Constituents: BOOO!!! SHOW ME!!! CONFLICT OF INTEREST!!! HE IS THE WASTE, FRAUD, AND ABUSE!!!

📌Our Park Service Rangers have flagged the warning on El Capitan. We are under threat by an America-attacking felon.

Just because "they" don't understand the value (or choose to be willfully ignorant of it) doesn't mean there isn't any. This is one of several areas where stimulative effects of government spending exceed their cost.

🗣️ @aoc.bsky.social out fighting for the people & federal workers: “Every day our job is to wake up and say ‘what can I do today?’ — There is no act too small. Every action matters.” 🇺🇸

As the NYC Council Finance Chair, I don't see how the mayor can continue leading the city under such chaos and turmoil. Working families are struggling to get by, and nobody can afford a crisis of confidence. Too much at stake. Too much work to do. Mayor Adams must resign.

It is really short-sighted and stupid to be gutting public health and outbreak surveillance capacity right now: - H5N1 nationwide - uncontrolled - TB in Kansas - largest U.S outbreak - Measles in Texas - Expanding - Seasonal flu - Worst in 15 years - Pertussis - outbreaks in multiple states.

🚨🚨🚨 Trump just fired USAID inspector general Paul Martin—one day after he exposed how Trump’s foreign aid freeze & mass firings have made it easier for U.S. taxpayer dollars to fund terrorist groups like Hamas & ISIS.

There is no content on that website—nothing. White House reporters just get herded from room to room and lied to in each one.

New: the AP says it was blocked from an Oval Office event after being informed that it would be barred if it didn’t follow President Trump’s guidance on renaming the Gulf of Mexico

Incredible editorial in the National Catholic Reporter. The headline doesn't capture how impeccably argued and supported the piece is, so go read it: www.ncronline.org/opinion/edit...

SCOOP: Kash Patel took $25,000 from a production company with ties to Russia propaganda activity to appear in an anti-FBI docuseries. He did not respond to questions about this. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

This tells you who their constituents are. Not American voters. Not Americans at all. www.nbcnews.com/politics/nat...

One thing I've thought about a lot over the past few days is we were told that Musk's effort involved myriad high-profile Silicon Valley names willing to forego salary in order to help revamp government and what we got was child soldiers.

Not so brilliant.

If you’re a Visa cardholder you can let them know you won’t be any longer if they do business with fElon. I called and they said they’re taking comments at [email protected]. Maybe if enough of us complain they’ll pull the deal.

Pam Bondi is disbanding the Foreign Influence Task Force - the FBI team that is charged with combatting foreign meddling in US elections. Worth asking how this makes us more safe in any way, shape, or form.

Treasury folks: Call FBI Washington Field Office. Report an intrusion into the agency’s system. Let them know what you are seeing. Use a burner phone if you have to. It is better than nothing (screenshot from www.crisesnotes.com/day-five-of-...)

Since the FBI appears to be the only agency that is both still functioning and not headed by a lunatic, the Washington Field Office needs to open an investigation into the breach of the computer systems at Treasury, stat

Hi all, We’re still here at OPM. We have a situation where we MIGHT, and I do mean, MIGHT have four of Elon’s people blocked from the building. Can we get press or a member of Congress down here? We’ve blocked them for two hours and they keep coming back and trying to go in.

Here are the options on the table (which are not mutually exclusive): 1. House Dems bring articles of impeachment* 2. Senate Dems play constitutional hardball and obstruct everything 3. State AGs litigate (and prosecute) everything they can 4. Citizens march en mass

Seems to me Democrats either need to have some facts gathered by now to assure us this is not as bad as it seems or be loudly demanding arrests and using their press operation to call for mass protests. Blandly saying it’s “unacceptable” in too few social media posts is only exacerbating panic.

I really wish that instead of preserving "norms" we had preserved “values" and "principles.”

More than anything this a sign of how impotent Trump is. He has one tool and he's already used it to death. You can't EO away the blame for firing the competent people who do the real work that supports our country and its economy.

To recap, Trump: -Forced out the FAA chief at Musk's insistence -Imposed a hiring freeze that reportedly included air traffic controllers -Fired the TSA head and gutted a key aviation safety committee -Blamed the DCA crash on DEI This is disastrous leadership.

This tweet sent out 14 hours BEFORE the crash needs to be immortalized in stone. Or on a plaque in every ATC tower. Or on a disclaimer before every Mayday: Air Disaster episode. Or on an Amber Alert type system to every American. Or on a stamp. Or maybe currency. Something.

"Despite his desire for essentially unilateral authority, he is a spectator to his own presidency the second something goes wrong," says @chrislhayes.bsky.social on Trump's response to the deadly plane crash on the Potomac River.

This new paper is so cool! It shows that the media use passive voice, nominalizations, and intransitive verbs that obscure responsibility in cases of police killings. Because they do this, citizens are less likely to hold police officers responsible for bad behavior.

Keep your messaging simple: “Trump fired everyone in charge of airplane safety, and a week later planes started crashing into each other.” That’s it. That’s the messaging. Don’t get bogged down disputing Trump’s false claims. Just blame him, in short and repeatable sentences.

Women deserve to know the TRUTH about the impact of Texas' total abortion ban. Today, I along with Rep. Gerry Connolly, Rep. Summer Lee, and Rep. Ayanna Pressley sent ANOTHER letter calling on Texas to explain why it won't release maternal mortality data from the past 2 years after Dobbs.

Bernie Sanders: "The key point here is that what Trump did is illegal and unconstitutional. The power of the purse rests with Congress and not with the executive."

You gotta be fucking kidding me with this bullshit. "But DeepSeek and Meta’s recent research suggests that more AI capabilities (and efficiency savings) could be gained by going down a more dangerous path — where AIs develop their own alien language."

this is a very common way for corruption to take place. this is how Oleg Deripaska paid Manafort: by forming paper LLCs in the Caribbean, then defaulting on judgments for arbitrary amounts of money after Manafort sued for breach.

Kash Patel wants to run the FBI – but the Senate still doesn’t have key info from the Special Counsel’s report on his testimony. We need the truth. We need transparency. The DOJ must release these materials. Now. Read my letter with @senatordurbin.bsky.social:

We are watching Project 2025 come to life. Thankfully, pro-democracy groups are fighting back in the courts and winning. @democracydocket.com's 17-person team tracks these lawsuits so you don't have to. Support their work. www.democracydocket.com/member-me/

Al Jazeera’s Zeina Khodr has the following report from southern Lebanon, where Israel’s military opened fire on Lebanese families trying to return home to their villages, killing 22 civilians and wounding 124. (Video 1/3)

And there it is. One of Trump’s billionaire allies Jamie Dimon just admitted that Trump’s tariffs are going to raise prices and Americans should just “get over it.”

ACOSTA: Do you agree with Trump's decision to pardon violent people? REP. BURCHETT: If they were truly violent, no. But I don't know that? ACOSTA: What do you mean you don't know? We're showing the footage right now.

“Cowardice asks the question, ‘Is it safe?’ Expediency asks the question, ‘Is it politic?’ But conscience asks the question, ‘Is it right?’ And there comes a time when one must take a position that is neither safe, nor politic, nor popular but because conscience tells one it is right.” MLK Jr
