Some elephants love mud baths, others love dust piles—but Mushuru? She loves to climb! Whether it’s scrambling up hills, scaling termite mounds, or conquering fallen logs, she tackles every challenge with determination and just a hint of mischief. Watch her latest feats: swt.bio/mushuru

True Story.

Mageno, Nyambeni, and Mzinga have been inseparable since their early blanket baby days, always exploring side by side. Follow their stories in our Keeper’s Diaries: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/keepers-diaries 1. Naymbeni and Mzinga 2. Mageno 3. Mageno, Nyambeni, Olorien, Mzinga and Suguroi

Voi’s orphans never miss a chance for a mud bath! As the temperature rises they plunge into the cool water, trumpeting and splashing with joy. Your support makes this possible. Help us give them the care they need to return to the wild: www.sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/donate #SundayFunDay

In 2024 alone, our veterinary teams treated 2,108 animals across 497 cases—including 255 elephants. Since our veterinary units were established, they have responded to 6,497 cases, helping 13,375 animals recover from injuries, illnesses, and human-wildlife conflict. #WildlifeRescue #SavingSpecies

Our favourite bickering siblings (of sorts), Sulwe (left) and Lenny (right), are constantly trying to outwit and outshine each other. They turn the midday milk feed into a fierce race to the finish line, stout legs pumping and ears flapping. It’s far too contentious to pick a winner so it's a draw!

Look at this handsome chap, exuding a quiet confidence as he visits our Umani Herd! It seems Murera has caught his eye, but for now she's quite content with her role as mum to Mwana, and nanny to babies Lenny and Sulwe. Learn more about Murera’s incredible journey: swt.bio/murera

Lions are more than just iconic predators — they’re keystones of healthy ecosystems. Habitat loss, conflict with humans, and dwindling prey populations threaten their survival. Protecting lions means protecting entire ecosystems, as their presence ensures biodiversity thrives. #Caturday

The Voi orphans know how to make the most of a sunny day — splashing, rolling, and soaking, as they enjoy a waterhole wallow! Moments like these reflect the safe, nurturing environment your support helps create. Be part of their story sheldrickwildlifetrust.org

What starts as a simple drink at the watering hole quickly turns into a playful sparring session between Kiombo and Maktao! These games are more than just fun—they help young bulls build strength, coordination, and the skills they’ll need as they grow. sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/umani-springs-herd

There’s never a quiet moment with Mr Bean around—especially when he thinks he’s not getting enough attention! Our little warthog orphan has mastered the art of dramatic protest, and today, his competition is Bibi the buffalo. Cue hilarious standoff of jealous glances. #Wildlife

Rokka’s journey began on 26th July 2021, when our pilots spotted a lone, distressed baby elephant by the Tiva River. At just seven months old, she was far too young to survive on her own. What followed was a dramatic rescue. Read her incredible story: www.swt.bio/rokka

Covering 27,900 kilometres each month, our Aerial Unit is a lifeline for Kenya’s wildlife. With 9 fixed-wing aircraft and 3 rapid-response helicopters, we tackle emergencies like orphan rescues, wildlife injuries, human-wildlife conflict, medivacs, and more.

Stark reminder of wildlife’s challenges: Our SWT/KWS Vet Unit treated a giraffe critically injured by poachers, with a spear embedded in her body and spinal trauma. Despite the odds, our team is giving her a fighting chance. Support vital efforts: sheldrickwildlifetrust.org/projects/veterinary-unit

Our helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft are more than machines—they’re lifelines. When orphaned animals are in danger, these units bridge the gap between peril and safety, reaching even the remotest corners of Kenya with speed and precision. With them, no challenge is too far or too great.

Our Keepers are more than caretakers — they’re family. They work tirelessly, day and night, to nurture our orphans, providing the love, care, and guidance needed to help them heal and grow. Their bond is the foundation of everything we do, paving the way for them to reclaim their place in the wild.
