Turns out Apple’s shareholders aren’t racist, misogynistic or ableist. Phew 😮‍💨 www.reuters.com/technology/a...

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

"The mayor didn't go public with this because he knows it's in defiance of the existing law. To have a mayor do that, is really scary." Dozens of local elected officials, healthcare workers, and immigrant groups rallied on Sunday against a new ICE guidance memo. hellgatenyc.com/adams-city-h...

not sure Snoop Dogg fresh off performing at Trump’s inauguration is the best spokesperson for Stand Up To Hate tbh

I’m sorry, Martin Scorsese said Marvel isn’t art, but has the audacity to be doing a Christian propaganda series for Fox… 👀

Congestion Pricing is creating tremendous benefits. Subway Ridership: ⬆️ 13% Bus Ridership: ⬆️ 6% (⬆️ 21% weekends) Transit Crime: 🔻36% Fatal Car Crashes: 🔻44% Trip Times: 🔻10-30%

Seeing some very familiar patterns in how people (and prominent media people) have been talking about Lewis-Skelly recently. I’m reminded of the narrative around Sterling, Pogba, Rashford and why they needed to stay in their lanes, be humble. I wonder what they all have in common.

💉💉💉💉

DOING THAT CELEBRATION YOU MAD MAN

Phil Murphy should be excommunicated from the Democratic Party for working with Trump to try and kill congestion pricing. Phil Murphy wants slower buses, a crumbling MTA, more traffic, and more pollution because his Goldman Sachs buddies hate public transit.

Reminder: Tariffs aren't paid by other countries. They're eventually paid by us at the check out line. The tariffs that start tomorrow 25% for Mexico and Canada, and 10% China — our biggest trading partners — are estimated to cost households an extra $1,250 annually.

Mikel Arteta On Myles Lewis-Skelly's red card: It is that clear that I leave it to you guys. I am absolutely fuming but I leave it with you. Because it is that obvious. I don't think my words are going to help

That red card has left such a sour taste in my mouth. I really try to avoid referee conspiracy talk, but that's just another decision - in a season of shitty decisions - that get given against Arsenal and nobody else. It's not violent conduct, he's not denying a goalscoring opportunity. I'm done.

Michael Oliver has sent off an #Arsenal player 8 times in his career, more than any other team.

5Live experts on Lewis-Skelly red card: Pat Nevin: “a bar so low even a limbo dancing snake couldn’t get under it…” Mark Chapman: “baffling and nonsensical from supposedly one of our best referees.” I don't think anyone except VAR or Michael Oliver thought that was a red.

Referee Michael Oliver hasn't given an Arsenal opponent a red card since March 2021 (Lamela, Spurs at Arsenal), in that same time (21 matches total) he's given Arsenal 5 red cards. In 62 Arsenal matches refereed, Oliver has given Arsenal 9 reds, opponents 5; awarded Arsenal 5 pens, opponents 14.

I think the thing that makes me this most angry is that on day 1 with the Nazi salutes, we need to fight NIMBY and anti-climate change “democrats” like @govmurphy.bsky.social so I don’t need to breathe NJ pollution… but I’m sure the @democrats.org will ask for my money to get him reelection.

"I'm willing to find common ground with fascists so long as a small number of drivers aren't charged $9 to bring their cars into the densest, most transit-rich city in the country" is a terrible look for Democrats.

Hochul pausing congestion pricing, at Jeffries' and Schumer's urging. Murphy and Gotteheimer fighting congestion pricing. Adams (I know, I know) refusing to stick up for congestion pricing. I'll vote for the Democrat every time, but Democrats absolutely have a problem pushing for big, bold plans.

We need to talk about this more. The drop in the rate of childhood asthma I. London after congestion pricing took effect there was huge.

Mayor Eric Adams, a Democrat, is intent on changing the city’s sanctuary laws to allow his administration to work more closely with federal agents to deport criminals. As changes loom, here’s what you need to know about New York’s sanctuary laws.

The mayor's proposed budget still underfunds parks and 3K—but don't worry, NYPD overtime is safe. And more news in our Morning Spew: hellgatenyc.com/mooooooooore...

Eric Adams calls for $900 million in NYPD overtime while failing to fully fund 3K and city parks. In case there was any doubt about priorities. hellgatenyc.com/mooooooooore...

Take a look at the New York Post's home page right now, and two things dominate: the LA wildfires, fueled by the climate crisis, and fearmongering about any kind of New York policy that would require some personal sacrifice to help prevent environmental disaster.

Manhattan’s congestion pricing has made the buses faster. Manhattan’s congestion pricing has MADE THE BUSES FASTER.

“I see a difference, definitely,” said Tony, who has spent 18 years as a bus operator for the MTA. “There have been no delays the entire week, and when I look to my left and right down the avenues I can see all the way down – I’ve never seen it like that.” nyc.streetsblog.org/2025/01/10/m...

“When you did these things, did you know that what you were doing was illegal?” Judge Dale Ho asked. “Yes,” Arkan replied... “When I wrote the checks, I knew that the Eric Adams campaign would use the checks to apply for public matching funds,” Arkan said. nypost.com/2025/01/10/u...

Can’t get enough of these congestion pricing anecdotes via @dodai.bsky.social nytimes.com/2025/01/11/nyregion/new-york-congestion-pricing-reaction.html

Ugh not even ten minutes into #traitorsUS and already annoyed with all these D-list celebrities and past drama on crap I’d never watch. How long til we get the UK version state-side?

"Taylor needed his VAR Darren England to tell him Saliba had touched the ball and it should not be a penalty — it was the vital piece of evidence Taylor was missing — but England let the wrong call stand." 3 seconds the VAR check took.

We’re less than 48 hours away from turning on the cameras and starting congestion pricing in NYC. We've put together a statement to celebrate the many benefits this initiative will bring to NYC transit, public health, and the climate. Read it now! www.etany.org/statements/c...

Thank fucking god. Let’s get congestion pricing going already.

Hochul just *quietly* announced she’s blocking variable tolls on gridlock alert days — a policy that’s been in the plan since day one. 🚨 Call Hochul at 518-474-8390 and tell her to stop weakening congestion pricing! New Yorkers deserve leaders, not pushovers.
