"Do all the good you can, By all the means you can, In all the ways you can, In all the places you can, At all the times you can, To all the people you can, as long as ever you can." #JohnWesley #quotes #Methodist 🙏

Your bank could be funding the climate crisis. Between 2016 & 2023, banks pumped $6.9 trillion into fossil fuels. Many ethical banks refuse to fund oil, gas & coal expansion. Switch to a greener bank & you can help redirect money toward climate solutions https://justmoney.org.uk/the-big-bank-switch/

Loved the Fairtrade T-shirt. And the Eco Church award ... then took a deeper look and realised that Bradford Cathedral has achieved GOLD Eco Church status. Amazing work - well done! (Read more about it here: bradfordcathedral.org.uk/2025/04/08/g...)

Today. Looks good - positive options for meeting common challenges.

Give thanks to God for the many lives saved by people working to end the scourge of malaria. Pray for a change to the current situation, in which funds are falling and progress is stalled.

This looks really interesting.

Children in #Gaza are starving. Since 2/3/25 Israel has blocked all aid from getting to people in Gaza. As a result, nearly 4,000 children in Gaza have been newly admitted for acute malnutrition in Mar—nearly double the no. of children suffering in Feb.

The Rana Plaza factory collapse in Bangladesh killed 1,134 people, including many garment workers. On the 12th anniversary, 400 charities, trade unions and civil society leaders have signed a letter demanding urgent labour reforms from the Bangladeshi government.

It's #FashionRevolution Day - a day to remember & pray for people injured in the Rana Plaza disaster ... and to campaign for more sustainable, fairer fashion now. Start by asking: "Who made my clothes?" Find out more. And if you don't like what you find, press for change. @fashrevfr.bsky.social

This Fashion Revolution week, take a few tired looking business shirts, add some embroidery, get creative and now you've got a fashionable top and wrap. How will you use embroidery to breathe new life into garments? #fashionrevolution #upcycling #upcyclingwithembroidery #Hatchembroidery

12 years ago today, the Rana Plaza building collapsed in Dhaka, Bangladesh. We honour the victims by demanding change: no one should risk their life for a wage. We advocate for binding rules, not voluntary promises. For safe working conditions & transparency in supply chains. #RanaPlazaNeverAgain

A helpful and interesting thread on the Catholic intellectual tradition, Pope Francis (and theology of creation care, within that!)

‪ In the Wokingham/Reading/West Berkshire area? Want to find out more about how your church can care for creation? Mortimer Methodist is having an Eco Church open afternoon this Saturday. Free - and looks great. www.eventbrite.com/e/eco-church... @greenchristian.org.uk @jllaynesmith.bsky.social

I am grateful for Pope Francis, for his gentleness and compassion, for his resolute commitment to justice for migrants and the poor, and for developing Catholic Social Teaching toward an integral ecology that showed that a Christian vision of social life must also take responsibility for the earth.

“Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last two hundred years. Reducing greenhouse gases requires honesty, courage and responsibility. Those who will have to suffer the consequences will not forget this failure of conscience and responsibility.” — Pope Francis

"Sisters & brothers, especially those of you experiencing pain & sorrow, your silent cry has been heard & your tears have been counted; not one of them has been lost! In the passion & death of Jesus, God has taken upon himself all the evil in this world & in his infinite mercy has defeated it...

"All-powerful God, you are present in the whole universe & in the smallest of your creatures You embrace w/your tenderness all that exists Pour out upon us the power of your love, that we may protect life & beauty Fill us with peace, that we may live as brothers & sisters, harming no one" #Francis

This year all parts of the Church celebrate Easter together. So, Holy Fire in Jerusalem is a celebration of the miracle of Christ’s resurrection for all Christians. Hallelujah, Christ is risen! Al Masih Qam! Christos Anesti!

Thanks to all who have shared the journey of Pope Francis' Via Crucis with us today. You can read his full reflections and prayers at press.vatican.va/content/sala...

Pope Francis' Via Crucis - 12 Jesus dies "The Holy One is no longer beyond the veil: his mystery is revealed to all ... The crowd that had cried out against you understands it: formerly distant, they now encounter the spectacle of an unprecedented love, a beauty that revives faith.

Pope Francis' Via Crucis - Station 11 Jesus is nailed to the cross "Nothing frightens us more than being unable to move. Yet here you are, bound, nailed, held fast. [Yet] not even on the cross are you stripped of your freedom: you decide why and for whom you are there.

Pope Francis' Via Crucis - Station 10 Jesus is stripped "Exposed to the view of all, you change even humiliation into intimacy. You want to reveal yourself completely even to those who kill you; you look upon those who strip you of everything as loved ones given to you by the Father.

Pope Francis' Via Crucis - 8 "The wailing women find their hearts moved at the sight of your suffering. For the heart is where things connect, & thoughts and decisions are born... Lord, our broken world, and the hurts and offences that tear our human family apart, call for tears that are heartfelt
