It started with erasing our histories. Now, legal recourse against racism is taken away. For those thinking it’s only the black and brown people who will be diminished, they will come for you also. Stand together or become oppressed together, before it’s too late.

This is your regular reminder that executive orders are not royal decrees. Because America has no king.

If you know, you know

Protestors (approximately 400 people) in Lenexa, KS on April 19, 2025.

This is getting fewer headlines than it should. After coming to power promising to help working people, the president is revealing his real priorities by actively making it easier for banks to rip people off.

38 of the 43. "38 of 43 experts cut last month from boards that review science and research in NIH laboratories are female, Black or Hispanic. "The scientists typically serve five-year terms and were not given a reason for their dismissal..." www.washingtonpost.com/science/2025...

This action of our government is plain wrong. There is a human cost to our domestic policy. There is also a moral cost which we have to bear. Our word counts for nothing. Anyone else feeling gravity pull us down a slippery slope of no return?

Please repeat over and over: “Bending to the whims of a bully will not end his cruelty. It will only embolden him. The response to authoritarianism isn’t acquiescence. Bullies respond to one thing, and one thing only: a punch in the face.” —Gov. JB Pritzker

Yes...we are there. Now let's act like it. My latest.

The possibility of abduction by a sovereign and imprisonment abroad is one criterion that separates democracies from dictatorships. The Declaration of Independence called the British king tyrannical for transporting Americans, “beyond Seas to be tried for pretended Offenses.”

Skipped the paperwork. Ignored the court order. Broke the law. Ignored the constitution. This ain’t immigration policy. This is straight-up defiance of the rule of law.

It doesn’t seem to me that authoritarianism discriminates. Everyone is subject to its whims. No one is safe or exempt. If you think disappearances are a thing other governments do, you are not seeing the plain truth in front of you.

Woah. Billionaire Trump supporter Bill Ackman just buried the Secretary of Commerce.

One of many powerful signs at the peaceful protest today in Lenexa, KS. I estimate 1200 people attended on this cold and dreary day. The energy of the crowd was palpable. The air was electric with determination and resolve.

The wages of the richest 1% have skyrocketed 182% since 1979.  Meanwhile, the wages of the bottom 90% have seen just 44% growth.  Trickle down economics was always a hoax.

You know that’s right!

This is a moral moment. It is not left or right, it is right or wrong.

Sen. Booker’s speech was a substantive and moral account of this moment. He did not read the phone book. He did not babble. For 24 hours @booker.senate.gov laid out a detailed, damning, and critical narrative of truth, history, politics, morality, humanity. What will you do?

At the heart of why this state Supreme Court race became such a big deal is simple: partisan power to determine the future of voting rights and fair elections. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...

It’s time for bold leadership in the Senate. I can see @CoryBooker as the next Minority Leader. Smart. Honest. Fearless. Visionary. He doesn’t just talk about the moment—we’ve seen him rise to it. Leadership requirements evolve. This moment demands change. Let’s get serious about what’s next.

Our government is supposed to protect and help us lead better lives. Yet our president and his supporters and enablers are actively harming people by taking away their livelihoods, destroying institutions which make us healthier and enrich our minds, and eroding our civil protections. Unacceptable!

This is incredible! John Lithgow shares 20 lessons on tyranny by @timothysnyder.bsky.social. Please take a moment, and share this widely. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXR5...

Courage is contagious. Hear him, Senate. Hear him, House. Hear him, Americans who want an America which works for us all. Hear him, those who are tired and worried. Then, speak your truth for us to hear you. We have addition and multiplication to fight those who would divide and subtract us.

We have a message from Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Elon Musk: WISCONSIN IS NOT FOR SALE! Elect Judge Susan Crawford to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. @benwikler.bsky.social @wisdems.bsky.social

I take everything 47 says literally, neither figuratively nor as hyperbole. It’s time to see the path our nation is going down as it is. We are in big trouble. The Constitution is little more than a suggestion. Morally and ethically we are bereft. Law and order are figments of a failed imagination.

Good info, worth knowing.

Companies keeping their DEI programs intact: Costco, Apple, Delta, Ben & Jerry's, the NFL.

Everybody but Don Knotts was on that text chain. The Gang that Couldn’t Shoot Straight would be shaking their heads in amazement! This is what will make us tired of winning?

Why aren’t Democrats losing their minds over this? Beyond the national security implications, this is another example of the incompetence and danger of this administration. Even I know this ought to be Democratic talking point #1 until the next unforced error by the GOP. Get with it Good Guys!

www.instagram.com/reel/DGWBWi-... New word of the day.

Going along to get along will not keep you from going to the gulag. Paul, Weiss you’re the weakness in our society Wake up, you’re giving in to straight up extortion. Have some principles and respect for yourself.

www.instagram.com/reel/DGllF9T... Dude has a great point. Keep it simple. Make it punchy. Rinse and repeat. Say it with me, “Taxes, tariffs, and terminations.”

Erasing history is more than hiding a narrative. It is the deliberate devaluing of those that contributed to that history. It is a direct attack on the humanity and dignity of the groups being maligned. It is furthering marginalization. It is moving our heroes to a lesser class of citizenship.

Learn history so you know evil when you see it.

I could write up why there’s no constitutional problem with the President using an auto-pen to sign official documents—or I could just post the 30-page 2005 opinion by George W. Bush’s Office of Legal Counsel that explains why in lots of detail. I choose the latter: www.justice.gov/file/494411/...

We’ve all heard bastardized versions of it, but the correct quotation and the person who said it is: “Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing.” JOHN STUART MILL And it has never been more evident in American history than it is today.

It’s not going to be a fun week.

Scientists have just cured pancreatic cancer in some patients with personalized mRNA vaccines. Pancreatic cancer. And this Trump administration wants to throw it all away. They’re throwing away a cure for cancer.

It is apparent that we are witnessing a deliberate and systematic erasing of history in order to lay a foundation for devaluing and dehumanizing whole groups of Americans. Can there be any other reason? And what comes next? Don’t let a lack of imagination keep the truth from your minds.

I’m feeling some kind of way about my government erasing my history, nay, our history, at every turn and deliberately attacking my value as a human being and contributing citizen. We must declare our worth and fight for our rights and dignity. Do you stand with me?

It is clear they are not only whitewashing history, but erasing any history which does not fit their narrative of white male supremacy. It is only a matter of time that "those" people have their rights rolled back. Oh, wait! Rights are already being rolled back. This is happening right now.
