A Russian living in China that welcomes Americans on Red Note. Yes, you heard that right. This is peeeaaaakkkk

The New Tower of Babel ⬇️

I believe this TikTok -> xiaohongshu event happened in the last few days is the beginning of something better. Over the last 20 years, we never questioned why the internet is like this, wasn’t it supposed to be bridging people’s lives? How come we’ve never questioned it until now?

Sultan's Game. A masterpiece of a strategy card game (demo). Even just the demo pacts well over a dozen hours in it. Enough said, go try the demo already.

Some differences on responses of a simple weather question between few well known AI products on the market right now. ChatGPT is the most thorough, Copilot is very similar. (Backend is ChatGPT). Claude data still aren't realtime. And Google Gemini is the funniest, it literally just gives me links.

Somehow, this feels surreal to me. On one hand, she did it to protect her country, on the other hand, a kindergarten teacher had to do something like this at all is saddening.

There is some special feeling about charging GBA SP with Nintendo Switch’s USB-C charger. Feels surreal, like a connection is made that crosses space time.

Having a nephew asking for suggestions on video game higher education program to enroll. While excited at first about introducing mine. Then it suddenly hit me. With the way video game industry treats their labor forces and how badly compensated they are, I don’t think it’s a good idea to encourage.

Finally managed to get my hands on one of these and had a chance to play it with friends last night, here’s what I think.

Been doing some GBA SP modding lately, still can’t believe how many communities come together and make these IPS screens and USB-C port mods for a gaming handheld device that came 21 years ago.

For smartphones, I can understand it being touch screen. People usually use their phones in safe environments, and can dedicate their attention to it. However with cars, you should always keep your eyes on the road while driving, and a touch screen interface design is contradicting with this goal.

It’s reassuring to find out I’m not the only one who thinks the trend in recent years that “touch-screen-only for all controls” in vehicle is pretty ridiculous (and unsafe). www.theverge.com/2024/11/12/2...

Never was a big fan of posting in public. But for some reason want to at least give it a try anyway. Start with at least one post a day, whatever it is. Don’t think anyone would notice.
