"Switching to oysters harvested only in the U.S. isn’t an option, because although there are numerous types of oysters available on U.S. coasts, the majority of U.S. seafood is imported. Canada is the largest supplier of seafood to the U.S. That’s hard to match." apnews.com/article/smal...

"“We are out here. We are demonstrating our sovereignty and our ability and capability to operate in high Arctic conditions. They don’t like that. They want to demonstrate through messaging that we are not able to maintain our sovereignty in the Arctic,”" www.theguardian.com/world/2025/m...

Trump knows this. The tariffs are just a bargaining tool to try to get a better deal. USA NEEDS CANADIAN ALUMINUM! "If the U.S. were to onshore all 2.7 million metric tons of Canadian aluminum it imported in 2024, the energy requirement would skyrocket..."👇 www.visualcapitalist.com/sp/aac01-can...

An inspiring story of a thriving small business. Let’s hear more of this. #BuyCanadian #shoplocal www.blogto.com/eat_drink/20...

What if everyone in Alberta who wants this moves to America and we get back the same amount of Americans who want to flee Trump? Like a prisoner swap, but dumber.

Oh Canada

Buy from the Veterans. Canadian legion stores

This tariff chaos is an opportunity for Canadian entrepreneurs, but also bad actors. Looked online for new places to buy furnace air filters. Found a Canadian manufacturer. Great price. Sells retail and wholesale. Problem? I have no idea if they’re legit.

In addition to the local farmer meat order today, here are my groceries. 2-3 international items(top left), 1 USA (unfortunately), the rest are #canadian and/or #local from the Farmer's market. Many provinces represented here: #pei #ns #nb #bc #qc #on. #shoplocal #buycanada #boycottusa

"Shipments by road accounted for 52 per cent of Canada’s import value in 2023, and 40 per cent of its exports, with that trade flow almost entirely to and from the U.S....Roughly 70 per cent of trade in goods between Canada and the U.S. moves by truck." toronto.citynews.ca/2025/03/06/t...

"Another Nanos survey highlights that three-quarters of Canadians are opposed to the idea of an economic union with the U.S., where Canada would adopt the American dollar."👇 www.ctvnews.ca/politics/art...

Canada got the ball rolling...now it's the Swedes move. "The groups are urging members to stop buying major US products, including Tesla, McDonald's, Coca-Cola, Nike and Levi's, and stop using services such as Netflix, Google, and Airbnb." www.euronews.com/my-europe/20...

"be mindful about marketing — a Canadian symbol like a maple leaf, an Inukshuk or a beaver on a product doesn't mean it has been sourced or made in Canada" www.narcity.com/buy-made-in-...

"“If you want critical minerals, Ukraine ain’t the place to look for them...It’s a fantasy....There’s some other agenda going on here. I can’t believe that anybody in Washington actually believes that it makes sense to get rare earths in Ukraine.”" spectrum.ieee.org/ukraine-rare...

"Columbia Sportswear adds pockets below the waistline of certain women's shirts so that they are not technically classified as blouses, which brings the duty rate down from 26.9% to 16%, as Marketplace reported in 2019. The company refers to it as a "ChapStick pocket."" www.npr.org/2025/03/07/n...

"Canada was the fifth-largest export market for U.S. pork last year, according to U.S. government data. Though shipments slipped, they were valued at about $850 million." globalnews.ca/news/1107185...

Time to repost this. Harper visiting the frump White House (sneaking out). 2019.(Trudeau was PM at the time.) Harper is PP’s handler and mentor. Don’t be fooled.. PP is on-board w/ fRump’s policies. www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

For Trump to be picking on Canada when we're so much further down the TD line, you know there are other agendas. "Many experts believe that tariffs aren’t effective at reducing trade deficits. However, they will impact supply chains and corporate finances." www.visualcapitalist.com/sp/trade-tug...

"Bigger fiscal surpluses (or smaller deficits) push down interest rates and cause a country's currency to depreciate.  That, in turn, makes imports more expensive and exports cheaper to foreigners, shrinking a trade deficit or increasing a trade surplus." www.piie.com/research/pii...

More symbolic than really impactful, but after witnessing all the shit Canadians had to deal with I just felt the urge to buy any canadian goods I could find. It's the first time I bought a canadian Whisky and was pleased to find out how good it is. I won't miss Bourbon for sure...

I’d like to announce my forthcoming US history book, covering a decisive but tumultuous era in that country’s history, titled “The trade policies of the United States: 10:30 am to 1:30 pm on Friday, March 7, 2025” It will be 400 pages.

Trying to write a series we call the Canadian Dilemma- the tough decisions we Canadians have to make when choosing foods to buy. Some processed in Canada or contain Canadian produce and employ many Canadians but are American companies. Others are Canadian but use imported ingredients. #CanadianFoods

Buy Canadian.

"Under the Investment Canada Act, Ottawa can approve or reject mergers and acquisitions based on their net benefit to the country.... would also be studied to see if they might undermine Canada’s security at a time when the economy was facing unprecedented challenges." boereport.com/2025/03/05/c...
