When I accepted all these audio books on Libby I assumed I could finish them. I have 9 days and 53 hours to get through, plus the other books waiting to be listened at two day intervals after. My children don’t need my attention- right? My physical books don’t need me - right?

And so I wake in the morning And I step outside And I take a deep breath and I get real high And I scream at the top of my lungs What’s going on - Four Non-Blondes

Today on National Indigenous Peoples Day, we celebrate the cultures and languages of First Nations, Inuit and Métis Peoples. Take time to learn whose land you’re on and listen to Indigenous voices - not just today, but every day.

Across Turtle Island—from Queen’s Park to Parliament Hill—new bills are being passed that protect profits, not people writes @veldoncoburn.bsky.social

I'll say it over and over. I do not believe in gate keeping. I do not believe in pulling up the ladder. I believe in kicking the wall down like the Kool-Aid man, and making room as I go for those who come next. Just because it was hard for me, doesn't mean it has to be hard for anyone else.

NEW: After a historic Indigenous consultation process, the Xinka people of Guatemala have said NO to Vancouver-based Pan American Silver’s Escobal mine. Canada must respect their decision, not undermine it, writes @ubcic.bsky.social‬ President Grand Chief Stewart Phillip.

It took decades for corporations to reach this pinnacle of control over the globe - coup governments, change laws in their favour & get governments to militarize police against their citizens - who on the left is strategizing to get us out? Where is the decades long strategic plan?

Canada is embracing the spirit of maga? “If it goes ahead we will see the construction of a surveillance state that is in some ways worse than the US”

Buddy reading a Bingo Card for summer with friends and I’ve completed three squares and have a forth square covered. #overachiever

A friend just asked me what I do to stay hopeful and I told him one of my favorite strategies…I stay hopeful by remembering that no one has any idea what the fuck is going to happen, so as long as we don’t know, we gotta do what we can.

And today it rained and rained (yeah I’m talking about rain a lot or lack thereof). Here’s hoping it reached the fires, and it helped.

Listen - we told you. Yes, getting Carney in over PP was important, but it wasn't the end of things. We're going to have to fight this fucker tooth and nail for the next four years to stop massive overreach and resource extraction on steroids.

Manitoba is still on fire. Yesterday Winnipeg (where I am located) got some rain but it didn’t seem to make it north. It was cooler today in the city and I keep hoping these cooler breezes blow north, and that the rain makes it up there too. Thankful for all those fighting and volunteering.

I would like the City of Winnipeg to waive transit fares & recreational user fees for the northern relatives who have been evacuated to the city.

When me moved to Winnipeg last year we thought we were leaving the smoky summers behind. Jokes on me I guess? Thankful for all the extra support from across Canada and down south to help us get people safe and put the fires out. #apocalypsesky #ManitobaStateofEmergency

@ihatejamesdobson.bsky.social as a parent listener thanks for today’s episode. And thanks for the new and ever present mantra in my head: this will come up in my child’s future therapy session. At least I know I say sorry a lot, and not just because I’m Canadian.

You know you’re getting old when you’re too tired to go out and party. You know you ARE old when that doesn’t bother you.

Why not crowpope though??

A look at some of the MMIWG events across the country for Monday's National Red Dress Day, when communities gathered to honour and remember the lives of missing or murdered Indigenous women and girls. Hear more on APTN News Brief:

A newly elected Liberal MP says Elections Canada has to do a better job of making elections accessible to Indigenous voters living in remote northern ridings. That's on Nation to Nation.

I hate Taxes. Also I procrastinate them. That is all.

Goodnight world, and Canada. It may feel like a “win” to some and a “loss” to others but the real truth is we now have to continue to fight. This government still is accountable to all of us and we are allowed to hold them to it. #CanadaElection2025 #elbowsup

If you’re in line when the polls close, stay in line. You can still cast your ballot. Your vote matters.

There was a time, not that long ago, when talking about Canada’s election results could get you thrown in prison. Here’s a brief look at the strange relationship between election law and time zones. #cdnpoli #canada #election youtube.com/shorts/qrVqx...

I just want to dissociate now that polls are getting closer to closing across the country. The pitt in my stomach won’t go away. Guess I will hyper fixate on CBCs coverage in a couple of hours. Going to go touch grass. #CanadianElection2025 #CanadaDecides #barf
