Freewheeling discussion about the current moment with two great editors and three brilliant people. @chronicle.com @amnauncensored.bsky.social Enjoyed this. www.chronicle.com/article/ther...

Something that has become really clear to me is that we really need more movies, TV series, and documentaries which romanticize and glorify scientific struggle. We have so many medical and cop dramas, we need a "Law and Order" or "ER" for science so people finally understand and appreciate our work.

Last night, I went to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for the first time in almost 8 months and today, everything is going right ...Coincidence? 🤔😂

Me in 2008, a community college student watching House: “I don’t know what to do with my life, I would be a great doctor”. Me in 2025, a postdoc watching The Pitt: I am so glad I did not become that type of Doctor I am not cut out for any of this nonsense .

The recent discussion on X with @mbeisen.bsky.social about how grad students are selected made me reflect on my own journey. I often wonder about who it was that made the life-changing decision to approve my grad school app, and what it was about me that pushed them over the edge. 1/ #AcademicSky

For part 3 of my intro to Blue Sky I want to highlight 2 of my science-adjacent articles. Some of the greatest gains I have made as a scientist have been a result of intentionally developing mental toughness and self-leadership capacity through activities outside the lab.

Optical measurement via the Measure app is by far the most slept-on iphone function

This is part 2/4 of my Bluesky intro to my work as a microscopist! You've never seen a virus move like this before: 3D-TrIm (3D Tracking and Imaging) is a revolutionary way to track the motion of viruses and other freely diffusing nanoparticles at high speed over large (>10+ µm) axial ranges

A few weeks ago I noticed my main data hard drive - all my photos, music, documents, code, etc. began acting very sluggishly. Here are some lessons from almost losing much of my most important data and a reminder to maintain protocols for frequency and actions for your data backup plan.

Welcome to everyone following me 👋. I think a great way to start off is to share some of my work. Today I start with 3D-FASTR: A faster alternative to conventional point-scan and random access volumetric imaging approaches. opg.optica.org/oe/fulltext....

Finally made the jump now that this seems like the place to be. If we haven't met before I am a postdoc microscopist 👋. I talk about microscopy, and some of my other passions such as self-improvement through developing mental toughness, following your purpose and continuous integrated learning.
