Say hello to Lyndon, one of our @uolhsspgr.bsky.social PGR students, as he explains how a range of activities across the Uni supported him during his PhD journey ⤵️

PhDs made in Liverpool can have global impact. PGR student Naeema is researching skin-lightening products in India. Learn about her work and why she chose to study with @uolhsspgr.bsky.social www.liverpool.ac.uk/humanities-a... #AcademicSky

Time to re-watch S1 and Rougue 1 youtu.be/AE4wxt70aUM?...

Hey PGRs! Make sure you check the latest Bulletin to find out about upcoming wellbeing events, training resources and opportunities for networking and development! If you missed the email you can catch up at our Bulletin page: www.liverpool.ac.uk/humanities-a...

We’re all set up in the beautiful Mandela Room at The Guild for today’s Postgraduate Research Showcase! If you’re on your way, we can’t wait to welcome you!

A great start to the @livunihss.bsky.social PGR Opportunities Showcase, with talks from the Faculty Director of PGR, the Director of the PGR Experience Team, and (pictured) Prof. Georgina Endfield, APVC for the Research Environment and PGR!

Faculty PGR Enhancement Coordinator Nicola Rankin in action, loading up the slides for the next presentation! It’s break time now so we’re off to get a cuppa…

…and PGR Administrator Nathan Elsdon is ready and waiting to welcome attendees for the next session of talks! Session 2 has talks including “Where a PhD Can Take You” by Dr. Jasmin Nessa and “Funding for PGRs” by Hayley Meloy!

Next up, the brilliant Sarah Ellis from the UoL PGR Development Network tells us all about her own experience of doing a PhD and about some of the support that’s available.

Dr Firat Cengiz (Faculty Deputy Director of PGR) and Lyn Hughes (Link Officer) run through some of the most important milestones to be met during a PhD…

Faculty Doctoral Training Officer, NWSSDTP Manager (and unofficial Font Of All Knowledge!) Hayley Meloy introduces some of the scholarships and grants available for postgraduate researchers from across a huge and varied funding landscape.

Dr Jasmin Johurun Nessa, an international law scholar and one-time University of Liverpool postgraduate researcher talks about where a PhD can take you. She is currently working on a project exploring the role of international law in regulating armed conflict.

What’s it actually like, doing a PhD? Synthia knows, she’s doing one right now! And, as an International student, she’s aware of the challenges that some prospective PGRs will have to face. So important to have a voice like hers in the room.

Martina Ferrari from the Central Well-being Team highlights some of the support available for PGRs, including direct access to the counselling service.

Is there any training available to PGRs? Indeed, there is! The rather awesome Billie-Gina Thomason is introducing some of the huge number of training provisions, including those provided via engage@liverpool…
