The sunset in Berlin today was amazing.

While waiting for our bus, my son pointed to the TV Tower and the cathedral in the distance and said, “Mom, it looks like there’s a green screen behind us!”

The best wall is the one that tells a story, not blocks a path.

The sun is shining in Berlin today. ☀️

There aren't enough fantasy novels in the world to help me escape this dark, dystopian timeline—though I keep trying, one page at a time.

My husband reads the news in Brazil every morning. This morning, he shared these “must read” excerpts with me. This was the best line (translated): “With the skill of a monkey in a china shop called the Oval Office, Trump, now face to face, resorted to verbal attacks.

My kids love living in Germany and constantly ask us to find a way to stay after my husband’s three-year postdoc ends. And every morning, as I check the news from back home, my stomach knots at the thought of returning to a country in turmoil.

The train arriving as soon as you walk down to the platform has to be one of the best feelings.

Missing the sun today. Even the crocuses are sad.

Me, walking into my twins’ bedroom at 10:45 PM on a school night: “Boys—“ Twin A, interrupting me: “I know, I know. I need to stop doing the SpongeBob voice.” Twin B: “And I’ll stop the Mickey Mouse impression. I’m just trying to get the right pitch, & I don’t have much spare time during the day.”

My first crocus sighting! 😍 We did it, team—spring is on its way. 🌹

Our twins had an allergic reaction to their MMR shot. Because their symptoms were so severe, they couldn’t get the second dose later. Now, I read posts like this and feel angry, scared, and sad that I have to worry about them no longer being protected by herd immunity.

For my job, I come up with fun travel ideas (targeted at an American audience). I leaned into my nerdiness & wrote about a Hobbit-themed AirBnb. No traffic. No interest. I tried again with a fancy hotel in Bath for Jane Austen’s 250th birthday. It bombed. Now I’m back to writing about the Bahamas.

You know when you’re running to catch your bus or train and then you see it arriving a little early, and there’s no way you can make it, so you stop running and just drag your feel as slowly as you can because it doesn’t matter anymore how fast you walk/run. Is there a name for that? Resignation?

Exciting morning at the office.

Ever almost lose it in the grocery line? A woman had 60-70 packs of cat food to scan, paid IN COINS, & then didn’t collect the items quickly, which held up the line. The customer between us (in front of me) snapped, threw her 2 bottles of water down, & made a scene. Honestly, I kinda got it.🤷🏻‍♀️
