Maximizing Investigators’ Research Award A Study Section puts MIRA grants on hold. This program encouraged an “eggs in one basket” strategy, so those basic research folks might be extra screwed.

…. Same. 25 years total at the NIH and I never seen anything like it. The sequester was a horrible time, this one is 1000x worst. Nothing more that pettiness and cruelty based on an astonishingly deep ignorance of what civil servants do
