Dean Karlan's job at USAID was LITERALLY to improve the efficiency of its programs. DOGE is clearly not actually after cutting fraud and waste. And its actions will clearly make the US weaker while also making the world a worse place. www.npr.org/sections/goa...

We just released our paper using a field experiment to reveal indoor air pollution (IAP) in London: It’s worse than you think! 🧵with six main results👇 With @sjroth.bsky.social.

Ich bin schon so gespannt auf die Promotion, die er während seiner Elternzeit schreibt: "Die rechtliche Einordnung der Imkerei im Familienkontext: Analyse der Vereinbarkeit von Bienenhaltung und Elternschaft"

Most romantic Valentine’s Day activity - brunch and then voting together in the German National election! 5* can recommend 😄

Elon Musk getting access to all that personal information is scary, right? In a few years quantum computers can crack all current encryption methods. What can we do about it? Find out by inviting @cryptocarsten.bsky.social to talk about it as part of Book a Forsker festival forsk.dk/indbakke/can...

Den 3. marts skal jeg holde offentlig foredrag om min forskning hos Videnskabernes Selskab (Danish Royal Academy of Science) Time to practice my Danish 😅https://royalacademy.dk/event/shopamok-og-sort-menu-derfor-taber-oekonomisk-politik-og-groen-samvittighed/

How cool is this?! A behind the scenes seminar series on how an economics paper came about - all the invisible work that never gets into the printed version. First event on 17th of February. I am also looking forward to using the recordings for teaching. www.bts-seminar.net

Looks like the US government wants to move back to the time when (mostly) women had to publish under pseudonyms or through their male colleagues for their work to be seen. Then again, what will they publish without data or funding...?

📢We are looking for a new #PhD colleague📚📢 Open call for a 3-year PhD on the #green #transition and #sustainability at the #CBS Sustainability Center. #behavioralscience applications are very welcome! @drtanusreejain.bsky.social | @katharinehayhoe.com | @jakereynolds.bsky.social

So any NSF funded behavioral science research is on the list… and most standard economics research.

Thanks to all who assisted. I have put links and brief descriptions on my webpage. Please let me know if I should add/change anything: sites.google.com/view/jonasvl...

Don't know me yet? Let me introduce myself and my work with a recent interview by Liz Barker: medium.com/@liz_43104/i...

Yesterday, I doom-scrolled. Today, I met with four bright students from Washington University who are in Copenhagen on a study trip to learn about sustainability and economics from the Danish example - gives me some hope for the US.

Experienced PhD supervisors: what is your favorite question to ask during interviews? What do you focus on most in applications? How do you pick successful PhD students?

Finally deleted my Twitter account yesterday - it was good while it lasted, but no amount of positive outreach can outweigh the owner making Hitler salutes.

The Scandinavian Journal of Economics has reached its 125th anniversary! In the latest issue, we, the current editors, put the spotlight on a selection of notable papers published in the journal over the past decades.

Today I got to talk to leaders at Novo Nordisk about why behavioral science is here to stay and how using the scientific method not just for R&D, but also within the organization is crucial for effective change. And, of course, how behavioral science can help with AI adoption.

How awesome is this Emily Oster! New econ prof goals unlocked! Your own fashion line! 😍 mmlafleur.com/collections/...

Fascinating talk by Christoph Houman Ellersgaard showing that close to one fifth of the past and current Danish elite are economists educated by University of Copenhagen. Many econ professors also part of that network. That's higher concentration than US elite from Harvard or UK elite from Oxford.

A fun visit to CEE-M Montpellier this week to present my new work on behavioral barriers to switching in the retail electricity market. So many great comments from the behavioral/environmental audience. Thanks for having me!
