This novel rules — terrifying, emotional, unputdownable. And damn if Keith doesn’t make vampires scary again. It lives up to all the anticipation following the FEVER HOUSE duology. Many thanks to @sadiehartmann.bsky.social for the shout!

Many thanks to Lit Hub for sharing two of my poems today! Read them here 🕊️

Here’s where you can preorder my debut book of poetry www.unnamedpress.com/all-books/p/...

Spent the morning shoveling snow with my kid. We talked about how--because the world is increasingly stupid, unkind, and selfish--we need to work hard at being curious, kind, and helpful to others. Even if we're just starting with shoveling the walk for our community.

Finally got around to making this: www.chadluibl.com

For all the young radicals, soon-to-be radicals, or just any parent who gives a damn -- this book is for you. Congrats, @kimkelly.bsky.social !

What’s at the top of your TBR pile for Thanksgiving break?

there are 20 spots left for this reading on 12/11. If you want to go, i'd say rsvp now. it's me, hua hsu, jia tolentino, matt berninger, and rose lazar. we're making a special crying-themed zine for the night, too. And... it's just a $5 Fugazi entry price. www.eventbrite.com/e/one-year-o...

Highly recommend Kevin Barry’s The Heart in Winter. Short novel but so moving. I savored every word.

Fun fact: most “American guitar” origin stories begin with migrant workers from Mexico. (The original Fender workshop in California was a community of skilled carpenters from Juárez - Tadeo Gomez’s initials are inscribed on the neck of most early Telecasters). Willing to bet this one’s no different.

I’m still not over this day.

Are we… are we now in The Upside Down?

Many of us are echoing @timothysnyder.bsky.social's lesson in On Tyranny, "Do not obey in advance.” A no less vital admonition that deserves attn: STAND OUT “...without that unease, there is no freedom. The moment you set an example, the spell of the status quo is broken, and others will follow."

This administration is already grosser than I could’ve predicted.

Carl Sagan nailed it back in 1995.

This novel, my god… I can’t wait for readers to meet it.

While NJ might be a “blue state”, I live in a rural mountain town surrounded by MAGA flags. So yeah, very happy to construct a bubble, echo-chamber, safe-(sane)-space here thank you very much.

Putting this into the ether in case Bluesky can work miracles: Years ago I read a portion of an incredible novel called Sublimity Canyon and I’ve been trying to find out who wrote it ever since. Damn good story, but the one that got away. If you’re a writer who knows this writer?

Since the election I’ve discovered Bluesky and What We Do in the Shadows. Minor joys, but accumulating.

This is the rallying call that I've needed to hear since November 6th. From Roxane Gay in today's New York Times www.nytimes.com/2024/11/17/o...

Apparently $44 billion can get you a few thousand sycophants, but it won’t buy you a single friend.

Everyone on this site has a library card

DT prob so bummed Epstein isn’t around for cabinet candidacy.

More balm for the soul. TCI is here. ❤️

a gentle reminder that you don't need to wait to be good enough to write or draw the things you wanna draw you get better through creating the things you wanna make, not by waiting to become better to make things

Only thing that could make this app better is if @stephenking.bsky.social came back and hung out a while.

CJ Leede's AMERICAN RAPTURE on the USA Today Bestseller's List, four weeks and counting!

This app is starting to feel like AWP. In a very good way.

Despite all the horribleness of last week, I managed to write a poem. Haven’t done that in 10+ years… Got to start somewhere.

My last post on X, and my first one here. Nothing changes — we fight for what’s right. Your heart is a muscle the size of a fist.
