It’s a simple message Democrats: Trump Chaos = Trump Recession

Look forward to joining @thebeat.msnbc.com w/ @arimelber.bsky.social on @msnbc.com today!

@slotkin.senate.gov felt like a visitor from planet normal after that

1/ @aoc.bsky.social has the right idea. I’m sorry but showing up and being disruptive is what Trump wants. He wants a spectacle and he wants people to boo and protest him so he can have security escort them out as he stands there and mocks them. It will show his power. Don’t take the bait.

Dems must be clear that RFK Jr , Rogan, Trump and the anti-vaxx movement they lead are responsible. We can’t equivocate and must call out the massive disinformation machine that will be unleashed to cover up what is happening in TX.

Democrats should learn from this - resistance works. www.theguardian.com/world/2025/f...

GOP members of Congress should be the govt. employees who are asked to justify their jobs. Exactly what do they do? Looks like government waste to me. If Elon wants to send them an email asking, that’s fine by me.

Among the list of early Trump failures, you can add his pregame pep talk to Team USA.

1/ In the 90's the DNC leadership had a two tiered approach - a Chair (Chris Dodd, Roy Rohmer, Ed Rendell) who focused entirely on doing media (which was mostly cable news at the time), and an ED (Don Fowler, Steve Grossman, Joe Andrew) who actually ran the operations. We need to go back to that.

Is there any actual difference between what Rush Limbaugh used to do and what Rogan does now?

I didn’t see any planes crashing when @petebuttigieg.bsky.social was Secretary of Transportation. I’m just saying….

Rather than this being sporadic, a “March Against Musk” should be organized. You could protest nationwide at Tesla dealerships on one day and draw massive publicity to his corruption. Also, by going after Tesla you hit him where it most hurts.

Sounds like something I’m in the mood for

Basically the democratic world is uniting against us.

Trumps comment simply drives home his alienness. Standing against his degeneracy is standing with America. We don’t have masters. We don’t bow to tyrants. Americas civic tradition is complex, democratic, libertarian, raucous, conflicted. It abhors tyrants.

In the journey from Eisenhower to Trump, the GOP has gone from giving us a President who led the war against Nazis to one who has his VP praise their apologists.

Most cartoons make me want to laugh. This one made me want to cry.

Portuguese editorial cartoonist Zez Vaz reaches back to Tiananmen Square to call on American defiance.

Sometimes I despair amid all this awfulness. But then I watch AOC fight back and I regain hope. It matters that someone is saying we can’t normalize this.

The strategy is simple - stop Trump & Musk by every legal means necessary. The politics are simple: Trump is a do nothing President and Elon, a guy nobody elected and few people like - is in charge and using our taxpayer dollars to get even richer.

I think all the commentary about how Dems need to “be strategic” and “ pick their spots” has been a disaster so far. It has led to paralysis by analysis.

Also, how is this lowering prices? We should have people asking that every time he and his minions show up in public. We should be attacking Trump as a do nothing President who hangs at Mar A Lago, focuses on stupid stuff, and leaves the real work to Musk. Which is the actual truth.

Every few hours for the foreseeable future, Trump will concoct some insanity to distract the public’s attention from this.

It would be great if we had an HHS Secretary who understands vaccine science and can promote sound preventative measures. Instead we will get RFK Jr.

Was the goal of the Trump-Musk Oval Office press conference to show that Trump is in charge and Elon works for Trump? If that was the point it failed spectacularly.

Awwwwww, Elon let Trump sit in his chair.

Since Musk is in charge, no need for Trump to actually be in the WH.

This Super Bowl is further proof that Trump ruins everything he touches.

Ever since Trump announced he was going, I find myself dreading the Super Bowl. Any relief from the news is gone, and I don’t want to watch the entire sports/pop culture world bend the knee to him. Authoritarians often weaponize sports on their behalf. Now it’s happening here.

One reason why attacking Musk is proving more effective. Musk is actually changing policy - Trump is just spouting nonsense. Trump’s short lived tariff war was a brief foray into policy - he quickly ended it and went back to the show. Dem Politicians can attack Musk’s policy changes more easily.

So I generally agree with this @thebulwark.bsky.social video about how we should call out Trump comedically like Shane Gillis does in the clip. However you need a comedian to do it, not a politician. Politicians don’t have the comedic sensibility or timing required. youtube.com/shorts/A7eJA...
