I decided to try LibreWolf as a more privacy-focused alternative to Firefox. Friends, do NOT use Firefox Sync with LibreWolf. By default it will wipe out your history on close, and I relied on that quite a bit. Ugh.

NEW from me: A whistleblower says DOGE may have taken sensitive labor data...and then someone posted a threatening letter to his door. www.npr.org/2025/04/15/n...

i don't really have any patience for the "buildings are clothes" argument. people insist that since cars are clothes, buildings must be as well. the important difference is that a car provides you with a belt to wear. that's an outfit. to insist a house is an outfit is absurd to the point of farce

@skeetsapp.com Scroll position hasn’t been saving correctly since it was added back a few weeks ago. Have any other users reported this, or is it just me?

I appreciate people stepping up and saying they'll run for Congress but I do think that Congress would be better served by having new candidates who actually have experience in elected office and don't continue the trend of treating it like a brand extension.

It appears that Pilot Flying J has sold my personal information to Seamless AI, a "provider of business contact information for businesses" that I presume will now pass around my info like candy to whoever wants it. This is why I use email aliases. I wouldn't have known who did it otherwise.

I migrated my PDS to a new home server. So far so good!

Just sitting here at my desk watching the stock market tank.

The story of the search for the 4 soldiers involved in the training accident in Lithuania is inspiring. “Never leave a fallen comrade” drives superhuman & alliance action. www.thebulwark.com/p/when-ameri...

My 11yo stepson got a Leapfrog talking globe for his birthday, and it doesn’t recognize Taiwan as a country. Even when I tap it with the stylus it says “People’s Republic of China” from the speaker.

Just buy the Brother laser printer. It always works. It doesn’t hate humans. It will dutifully sit in the corner of your office for 20 years, ready when you need it and accepting whatever shitty 3rd party toner you feed it.

“Hey, let’s take the boys to the part of the dog park with the algae-infested pond. What’s the worst that could happen?” So much joy was had today!

As a small business owner, I often misplace my tiny business

I woke Papi up from his long nap to answer a letter from a concerned reader who says they feel scared and small in the wake of everything these days johnpaulbrammer.substack.com/p/what-am-i-...

One of the world’s most chilling ruins is the Ploutonion at Hierapolis, otherwise known as “the Gate to Hell”. Here crowds once watched priests lead animal sacrifices down into a cave, where they died mysteriously as if dragged down to the underworld. And no one knew how they did it until recently.

I just laughed so much I cried, which was made more difficult by the fact that I was trying not to wake my fiancĂŠe sleeping beside me.

I went out for my first ride of the season and ended up going down as I was making a turn a little too fast. I made it out with just a scrape and a couple of bruises (thanks riding gear!), but I’ve decided to sell the bike. I have a family now, and I can’t risk something worse happening.

I just submitted my first package for the Debian repo! Nothing fancy; I just needed the LuaDNS authenticator for Certbot and I saw that it wasn't in the repository. Here's hoping my sponsor doesn't think it's TOO poorly-packaged. 😅
