LET’S GO OHIO! Faculty and students at the University of Cincinnati’s protesting the decision of the University to comply with Trump‘s EO to dismantle DEI. www.tiktok.com/t/ZT2mJ7AJb/

Anytime I say something now I'm going to preface it with saying it's my personal liberty... Like it's my personal liberty to flip off any racist, sexist, transphobes! 😇 and don't forget punching nazis!! 😉

Looking for scientists and those who supports critical research to come out on Friday, March 7th. I'm going to be in Salem, #Oregon. Events are forming across the country and DC. Please help spread the word. 🧪🔬👩‍🔬🐝🌐 #StandupforScience

What drives me crazy about the anti-DEI rhetoric is everyone wants to be judged on merit. But you can't be judged on merit if you can't even get in the door because you don't fit some prejudiced definition of who is capable and who isn't

C-squared lab represents at SPSP 2025!

If you are not pro-union you are automatically sus to me 😂

Workers feel more aligned with unions v hr when they get info about union procedures and org conflict is salient. Check out the preprint by @megan-elaine-burns.bsky.social

New op-ed out today! "We believe this rush to comply is a sign that universities are willing to become an institutional wing of the new segregationists." This op-ed was written with fierce love for our communities. That's who we serve. We will not be erased. www.insidehighered.com/opinion/view...

#SPSP2025 the real treasure was all the grouchiness around how dry the air is in Denver and everyone not getting proper sleep because of it...friends we made along the way?? Am I doing it right??

When we fight, we win. Judge Halts Implementation of Trump Anti-DEIA Executive Orders Nationwide The AAUP is proud to stand up & defend our campuses & communities against those attempting to squash civil rights & halt progress toward an equitable, multi-racial democracy. www.washingtonpost.com

Judith Butler: "Once you decide that a single vulnerable minority can be sacrificed, you’re operating within a fascist logic, because that means there might be a second one you’re willing to sacrifice, and a third, a fourth, and then what happens?"

An excellent deep dive intp the dats behind FIRE's "campus free speech" rankings. You won't be surprised to learn they are bullshit, riddled with errors and willful misrepresentions. This is not a serious organization and we would stop treating it as such. www.chronicle.com/article/the-...

C^2 lab at #SPSP2025 (Shout out @vazjay.bsky.social for the graphic!)

This is the kind of leadership and organizing i love to see... community college leaders set the example that R1 institutions aren't even keeping up with, prestige is bullshit.

🌟Come check out our stellar line-up at #SPSP2025! 🌟 We'll be presenting topics such as confronting sexism, police bias training, and instability in U.S. immigration policy 💫

100% could have called this. No one is coming to save us. We protect us.

🇺🇸⚖️ Racial Attitudes & Anti-Democratic Beliefs New research finds anti-democratic beliefs among White Americans are increasingly tied to racial resentment and White grievance, shaping views on voting rights. 🔗 doi.org/10.1017/rep.... #Democracy #VotingRights #USPolitics 🧪

Ngl, us trashing this take (rightfully so) is why many white liberals will turn their backs on us and go along with their new white supremacist/neo nazi leaders...

Key line from ED Dept "Dear Colleague" letter: "This guidance does not have the force and effect of law and does not bind the public or create new legal standards." Ed.gov/media/109506 Letter coercively threatens fed. funding based on misstatements of law. States can't just ignore but must resist.

📣 DEAR COLLEAGUE LETTERS ARE NON-BINDING GUIDANCE LETTERS. You cannot change what is considered illegal discrimination under federal law through non binding guidance.

This statement, if you haven't read it, is terrifying. So much white supremacy and eugenics like language baked in. The mere presence of non White bodies threatens them to their core.

One of the questions after my talk today was about scientists refusing to buck the administration because they fear losing their jobs. I said that a lot of self-styled apolitical scientists lost their jobs this week, so silence will not save them. Respond and keep your values and dignity.

It is perfectly legal to know your rights and to educate others about them, too. EVERYONE in the United States, citizen or not, has rights. I will not allow this administration to intimidate us from helping you know about them. Here’s our shareable guide ⬇️: (pt. 1/2)

I have had a TON of people asking how they can help...here is what would help us the most right now: SHARE SHARE SHARE SHARE SHARE! Tell us why you #standupforscience2025! Send flyers to your colleagues and labs! Change your bluesky banner! Tell your professional orgs and departments!

Tiananmen Square.

Do not obey in advance includes deleting Black History Month DURING Black History Month. There’s absolutely no reason except when there’s a Nazi at the table & 10 other people are there talking w/them, you’ve got a table with 11 Nazis. I can’t imagine being excited to lick boots like Google was.

Folks are shocked that their institutions, after professing commitments to climate justice and DEI, are now caving to Trump and scrubbing all references. It's brutal. And it's the smallest taste of what our students felt when their universities called in the cops b/c they protested a genocide.

Jesus christ...if this isn't another sign we're in an authoritarian society. Next they're going to censor all of our history (as if it isn't already so sanitized...)

A protester unfurled a combined Palestinian and Sudanese flag on the field during Kendrick Lamar's Super Bowl halftime performance. The NFL said in a statement that the person was part of the 400-member field cast. nyti.ms/3CVV6Au

for pity’s sake, I am BEGGING university leaders to stop framing this issue in terms of what this will cost the university. people dont care! EXPLAIN WHAT THIS WILL COST THE PUBLIC: closed hospitals and clinics, skipped treatments, loss of access to experimental drugs, unemployment, recession

USAID friends are asking this video be shared on social media at 5:30pm eastern, as E**n M**k has spent $40M on a Super Bowl ad to trash USAID, which accounts for 1% of the federal budget. Please spread the word. youtu.be/PqUESHfuO_8

Following George Floyd’s murder I remember people on social media claiming there were “too many” race jobs, pretending that diversity statements were oppressive violations of free speech, and Ivy League white guys claiming they lost out on jobs to people of color. And here we are.

A great website tracking all the companies that have bent the knee to Trump and eliminated their DEI programs, and all the companies that have stood strong. www.dei.watch

Having facilitated a Navigating Grief in BIPOC Solidarity series, which delved into Collective & Ancestral Grief, Disenfranchised & Suffocated Grief, Movement Grief, Anticipatory Grief, Carceral Grief, Disability Grief, Climate Grief, etc, so sharing those resources: drive.google.com/drive/folder...
