Keep your folder structure the same in all apps, wrap primitive types in value classes, avoid default values, and so on. You could argue that these recommendations are obvious, but in reality, applying them consistently requires discipline that many teams lack. #scala www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zrhp...

🕹️ Indigo 0.20.0 is out! Many thanks to the contributors involved in this release! A small smorgasbord of quality of life improvements and a wacky Waypoints demo. What's not to love? github.com/PurpleKingdo... #Scala

At @wigmore-hall.org.uk again for Víkingur Ólafsson this time.

Looks like you were right @lancewalton.bsky.social 😕

"One of the key problems in government procurement of IT systems is... Managers are making decisions on highly technical solutions they do not understand." We are open to the threat of vampire tech.

Trump tried to force everyone to buy American. Result: No one is buying American.

“He made 2.5 million today and he made $900 million. That’s not bad.” Sounds like market manipulation to me. That’s bad.

Finished the chapter on tagless final in "Functional Programming Strategies" and it's available to read online: scalawithcats.com This includes the new encoding I talked about at @scalar-conf.com Sign up to the mailing list on the same site if you want to hear about updates.

What is this, and why is it so performant? 🤯 #scala marcinzh.github.io/turbolift/

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die. Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

YOU DID WHAT?

@unison-lang.org coolness: mermaid diagrams generated by code in your docs. See share.unison-lang.org/@alvaroc1/me... and expand the source (see pic)

It's the darndest thing. Folks tell me their code's over-abstracted because teams went too far with refactoring. But when I observe those teams working on that code, I don't see *any* refactoring going on at all. I think mayhaps that speculative generality's the real culprit here.

@teamlabouruk.bsky.social … your move

Pedro doing damage to Constantine the octopus. Sorry @octopus.energy

I notice roads being resurfaced, potholes being filled, and other repairs, around me where I live in Surrey, UK. #Labour are doing some things right.

🔥 OBAMA: “IMAGINE IF I HAD DONE ANY OF THIS… I say this not on a partisan basis. This has to do with something more precious — who are we as a country, and what values do we stand for?” 🇺🇸

Hmm, #MobLand looks good, usually can’t go wrong if Tom Hardy is in it.
