For the US to side with Russia and North Korea to oppose a UN resolution condemning the illegal invasion of Ukraine defies all common sense and adds insult to the countless injuries suffered by the brave Ukrainian people. edition.cnn.com/2025/02/24/p...

Looking forward to this upcoming meeting - come check it out!

Congrats to my flippin’ awesome colleague, Emily Austin! It’s a kick-butt award! Buy the book! It’s worth your time. #philsky #academicsky @wakeforest.bsky.social

Congratulations to my colleague Emily Austin on this tremendous news! Austin Wins New Public History of Philosophy Prize - Daily Nous. dailynous.com/2025/02/24/a...

Happy to be back home and at the Wake Forest game with the kids!

A first time experience for me giving a talk. Someone comes in before the talk started, and lays down to sleep on the chair next to him. I am used to people falling asleep during my talks, but this was a new low. I said it was fine to leave him there as long as he didn't start snoring. 😊

Excited about my upcoming session at the Learning & the Brain conference on Teaching Stronger Brains: Promoting Student Strengths, Character, Compassion, Hope, and Autonomy in a Deficit-Focused Age. #LatB70.

13 Question: Christian Miller. At the New Philosopher. @newphilosopher.bsky.social www.newphilosopher.com/articles/13-...

Tom Brady is still the GOAT.

I can't remember being less interested in a Super Bowl.

Google frames its LLM as a tool to deceive friends & family. Rather than pitching Gemini as a way to build one's knowledge, they pitch it as a cheap way to grift the social benefits of knowing stuff but without really having to learn. Depressing. www.youtube.com/watch?v=h_P_... #AIethics #techethics

Feels like it has been a while since I had a quiet Friday night. What are you reading? I'm working my way through a 300 final manuscript for Oxford University Press.

Thrilled to be holding the Indonesian translation of my book! This is the fifth translation of The Character Gap, and I am very grateful to Samuel Jonathan for all of his incredible support and hard work on this project. He was amazing to work with.

"Whitney and his colleagues have given us a new approach to combatting prejudice. It is worth following their work moving forward as the virtue-based approach continues to (hopefully!) be developed in the future." www.forbes.com/sites/christ...

Back home from a fabulous visit to Palm Beach Atlantic University. Really enjoyed giving two talks and teaching two graduate seminars for the MA in Philosophy of Religion Program and hanging out with the faculty and students. What a great program they have started!
