I've drawn up a set of principles for approaching web accessibility. I hope they help to frame your work as we enter 2025. github.com/Heydon/princ...

I'm 💀 I saw this on the bird app 🤣😭🤣😭🤣😭🤣 I said this would happen! Imagine using an app developed by these morons who think they can prompt their way to £££ I bet they don't use tests either. There should be a warning sign or disclaimer

Remember when AI agents and those with no programming skills were going to take all the Dev jobs Lolololol

A lovely day spent tutoring at wethinkcode.co.za here in Johannesburg! A talented cohort of 400 South African-grown programmers! #donate

So RedNote? 😂 Are we moving?

Stole this from the bird app. It's funny coz it's true. The "trust me bro I built a million dollar app in a weekend with just a few prompts."

Actual footage of me at standup The 2nd of Jan should not be a working day

U.K. people of STEM (and adjacent fields)! 🧪 If you’d like to write more this year - there’s still time to apply for ScienceWrite 2025 Apps close 10am Friday

Someone on that bird app, lording the benefits of developing with ai has just discovered TDD. Talking about TDD like it's a new discovery. Someone even asked what TDD stood for? Lol 2025 is going to be wild. Happy NY BTW

This is the sound of a 15yo being amazed. It is not easy to amaze a 15yo. Her first attempt at using her foldscope.com, a small flat cardboard microscope that fits in her back pocket. I'm amazed too. Big thanks to @prakashlab.bsky.social for inventing this wonderful thing 😍 #ThriftyScience

The HB1 visa discourse is over here too!

Absolutely not.

AI slop built in 2 weeks by people with no knowledge or experience, isn't the flex people think it is. Yeh, I'm not giving you my card details! These products are a hackers dream.

The true cost of AI. ChatGPT isn't free. How big AI companies exploit workers in Kenya. Watch with caution... youtu.be/ehkECk2KJjY?...

Interesting paper about handwriting and brain connectivity. When learning how to code, would handwriting code help a beginner? www.openread.academy/en/paper/rea...

The brain is a muscle and you have to use it. Many are choosing not to exercise their brains.

I worked with a guy who learned how to code, then quickly started using AI to do all of his coding work (like 100% of it down to traceback following and error fixing) that when tasked with doing something manually he physically couldn't.

Are we witnessing the decline of human cognitive skills in real time? Soon we won't be able to spell, write original thoughts, code without AI assistance, do mental arithmetic...even use an analogue clock AI is causing brain atrophy

I have to pop to the shops... pray for me

Choose 20 books that have stayed with you or influenced you. One book per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just covers #Blackbooksky #Booksky #BlackSky #Bookchallenge Day 4

A random Temu post because otherwise @charlene.bsky.social won't feel at home.

I'm missing the Temu ads 😂

I can self promote, true? 😎
