Hot days (and grid atlases) are for a cold knock off beer... 🍻

Injecting arbitrary experimental data into AlphaFold has been a missing feature. With high-throughput crystallography yielding 1000s of structures/year (@covid_moonshot) & cryoET making 😍 but low-res in situ models, it's also become a necessary one for scaling up structural biology. Hence ROCKET👇!

I've decided to start posting more mundane stuff to try and dilute some of the doom scrolling. Enjoying a bruschetta snack, nice view, and cucumber and yuzu G&T. Cheers.

The CO2 crisis slides are really good, I knew capture wasn't particularly effective - but geeez.

You hear about our successes a lot on here, but I don't talk enough about the rejections. As of today, 10 out of the 12 grants members of our lab put in this year didn't get up. Most grants were led by early-career researchers in/with our team as a way for them to lead independent programs. 1/3

Did someone mix up AM and PM over at the #NHMRC? I'm all for releasing grant outcomes as soon as possible, but 1:30 AM is a rather unconventional choice!
