Taking a break from working on a peer review to celebrate #Caturday. Spinning this Kenny Barron & Tommy Flanagan #jazz LP that I recently bought in Beacon, NY. It’s a Japanese release with fascinating yet inexplicable art by Satoshi Saito and photo by Masahisa Fukase.

That data and social bias article had me thinking about this enlightening 2023 presentation by Drs. Deyrup and Graves for the HAPI program at G'town: youtu.be/1Oq0S2jl77o?...

Nice brief article discussing the data and social biases that readers of scientific studies should have on their radar: #KYEO

Anyone can check out a book. Anyone can enjoy air-conditioning in the summer and heat in the winter. Anyone can use the bathroom, sit on a soft chair, log onto the internet. Everyone’s library card looks the same. Children can encounter new worlds, and elders can find community. There’s no red tape.

Released #OnThisDay in 1964, this sublime album: Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus Mingus. One of my favorite LPs of all time.

Easin’ in to 2025 with the latest absolute groover from @rosecityband.bsky.social courtesy of @thrilljockey.bsky.social

Found this item while working on manuscript revisions and citations. We're not citing this perspective but I strongly encourage the practice: "Using Punk Rock to Invite Dialogues on Diversity and Inclusion" www.facultyfocus.com/articles/equ...

Exploring the Research Outputs where I work using @altmetric.com and these are the thirty articles that already have @bsky.app mentions. There's a long tail so apologies for the eye strain. Keep skeeting the good word!

Huzzah! Scoping Review will finally be a Publication Type in PubMed MEDLINE starting in 2025. Reviews will get the rare retroactive indexing but unclear how far back.

A Comedy of (Database) Errors: I’ve collected a few of my favorite #library database errors and bugs below. Please share your favorite errors?!

This stellar album was recorded #OnThisDay: Booker Ervin’s The Freedom Book. Featuring Richard Davis, Jaki Byard, and Alan Dawson. If we are to believe the sleeve notes, this is the first time the quartet played together and the session was recorded in five hours!? #jazzsky

To help celebrate #Caturday, here's a relatively recent document from the National Library of Medicine's historical collections, demonstrating a unique perspective of cat therapy: resource.nlm.nih.gov/101611663

Is this a controversial take?: Instead of gravy with your Thanksgiving dinner, try お好みソース (okonomi sauce); spicy preferred but regular will also work. おいしいですよ いただきます

Long shot here, but are there any other #librarians attending #PRIMR24?

"The Dance of Death," German oil painting, 18th century. It depicts living people from all walks of life encountering skeletal figures who force them to engage in a deathly dance - a metaphor for the inevitability of our ultimate demise. #Halloween2024 #History #Death
