For years we enjoyed crocuses popping up in our garden as a sign of spring. We hadn't planted anything there. After a couple decades that we looked into it, and realized they aren't crocuses at all. More than likely Siberian squill. Unpleasant sounding, and an invasive species in these parts.

It looks like most or all of these publications are owned directly or indirectly by Postmedia Network, and they have lots of other publications with Canadian-sounding names, presumably pumping out right wing propaganda. (I haven't personally reviewed any of them.)

A snail in the British Museum holds the record for the longest suspended animation of any animal. After four years mounted on cardboard it was noticed to be alive. It was promptly freed, and a partner located. The snail survived for two more years before returning to the museum.
