Devices to fool automated systems into thinking you're active and present don't exist because people are lazy, they exist because bosses count productivity by minutes not tasks and will punish idle hands for not taking longer.

One good tactic for dealing with existential despair is find a place where you can do some good. Might be volunteering to help people or animals. Might be seeking an appointment on a local board or running for office. Might be sharing poems on the internet. Pick something at a scale you can manage.

The concept of Universal Basic Income isn't about discouraging hard work; it's about ensuring everyone has the fundamental necessities to survive. Our society should not be one where survival is a privilege. It's time we make it a right. Basic income is not charity; it's justice.

Voted in the local elections and can’t shake the feeling of shame and resentment at the photo id requirement. Shame at participating in an evidently cynical attempt to disenfranchise voters under 60 without a valid passport or driving licence. Resentment at the pretence that there was even a problem
