Hello Thursday. How did you get here so quick? First, there's a new post at charliepeacock.substack.com and here's a Roots & Rhythm post today. Me with engineer Richie Biggs at Blackbird Studios, Nashville TN. Planning to meet up there next week to listen to some immersive mixes.

Spotify began as a "get sued then negotiate" model then big corps got a piece. It takes hundreds of millions of plays on tons o' songs to make a living from it. Nevertheless, after 40+ years as recording artist, this is my best year (reach-wise) so far. And Spotify helps. Thank you for listening!

Good Saturday to all! My Rhythm & Roots photo pic for today is the vintage drum kit that drummer Steve Brewster used on the No Man's Land recording. Loaned to Steve from Sam Bacco's collection.

Roots & Rhythm photo for the day. Happy Friday to all. Side One of self-titled vinyl album on Island Records from 1986.

If you're keen for such a thing I posted today charliepeacock.substack.com

Pre T-day photo as a nod to upcoming Roots & Rhythm (2.04.25). Me and manager Bill Graham, backstage at Fillmore. He's wondering, what's so funny? "That's the worst performance I've ever seen—and do something about that sweat." Music is hard. Book preorder avail now, everywhere.

Tuesday Roots & Rhythm photo: When you become friends with your mom's rock n' roll heartthrob from the year of your birth, then decades later set her up for a visit and photo opp: Alice Ashworth, Pat & Shirley Boone.

Hello Monday. Today's Roots & Rhythm vintage photo: Me and dcTalk performing "In the Light" at the Ryman Auditorium 1995.

Friday's vintage photo underscoring Roots & Rhythm to come. This time out, going way back to where the music began—my GGF George R. Baggett, Singer, Louisiana circa 1900 (from tintype).

For months I've been working on updated some necessary family biz. Trying to stay focused and not forecast anything new. I finally caved, went to the art studio and started working on new canvases to use with my mixed media pieces that also combine 8mm film. Here's what phase one looks like.

Today's photo from the deep past. Props to Eerdmans Publishing for giving me sixty photos in the memoir, Roots & Rhythm. Band, backstage at Wolfgang's in SF circa 1985. #bongobobsmith

Nashvillians and those close . . . HOLD THE DATE . . . Book release event at Parnassus Books 2/04/25. Details to follow.

In honor of the upcoming memoir I will do some deep dives into my photo collection for posting here on Bsky. Spring 1981 Sacramento State University, noon concert in the quad. Mark Herzig (gtr), Jim Caselli (drums). Rhodes 73, Springsteen shirt.

It is only right for me to give this platform a go. The second band I was in was called Blue Sky. No agenda. Just entering in since a few close friends are. Hoping for good.
