UPS driver may need a photography class.

YouTube is full of tutorials on #drone photography & videography. What amazes me is that they all find scenic places to film that are not packed with crowds of people. How?? #dronephotography #dronevideography

I asked Google Gemini what kitchen equipment my daughter would need for her apartment. It listed "small saucepan," with a photo of a saucepan, and "skillet" with a photo of a rock band called Skillet. I'm not sure AI is ready to take over the world yet. The band surely wouldn't fit in her cupboard.

This is what low-hanging fruit looks like for copyeditors—a real-life example. Before: "You can use A, B, as well as having the option to utilize C…" After: "You can use A, B, or C…"

This is your periodic reminder: 1a. If you’re in the passing lane, pass somebody. 1b. If you’re not passing anybody, don’t be in the passing lane.

It's taking all my self-restraint not to reply to an email saying tomorrow's office lunch will include Margarita pizza. Presumably that's made with tequila, triple sec, and lime—as opposed to Margherita, which features tomato, mozzarella, and basil.

For those of you who like the writings of #author Patrick Rothfuss, some #FantasyLit news over on The Signed Page: https://signedpage.com/blogs/news/the-narrow-road-between-desires-by-patrick-rothfuss

In web development, building the first 90% of the feature set takes 90% of the allotted time. Debugging carousels takes the next 90% of the time. If you're still putting carousels in your designs, it's time to stop. Less than 1% of your visitors will scroll them anyway.

My daughter lent me a book she had just finished: Senlin Ascends. I expected a fun story, and got one, but it’s more than that. It’s a rich and inventive bunch of world-building, a satisfying character arc, and the writing itself is so good. I’ve already bought the next book in the series.

Every couple of weeks, I drive my daughter's car to work, so it’ll be in drivable condition when she comes home from school. I’m here to tell you that after switching to an EV, there isn’t any nostalgic longing for the loud “putt-putt” and molasses acceleration of a 24-year-old classic vehicle.

A challenge for the graphic designers out there: The rain icon in your favorite weather app is insufficient for days like this, at least from a driver’s perspective. But nobody has designed an apocalypse icon yet.
