The current state of the Starship Odyssey TTRPG!

Mappa Mundi - An Exploration + Ecology RPG is available to pre-order! After a successful Kickstarter campaign, funding over £75,000, we're happy to make Mappa Mundi available to pre-order. Order in April to receive your copy in the first wave! mappamundirpg.backerkit.com/hosted_preor...

Oh, one of the books I _actually_ wrote is all about vehicles in 5e and A5e. I haven't gotten round to detailing the Creative Commons release or getting it out in Braille, but you know, time and spoons and all that. (affiliate link) www.drivethrurpg.com/product/4229...

Do you like causing a little mischief? Getting into a touch of shenanigans? Perhaps just a bit of hijinks as a treat? Don’t lie. You do. Channel that inner fae trickster by backing #TheCunningFolk, a #TTRPG that is whimsy made manifest by the entirely horrible @emilygreymoore.bsky.social

I've started a discord server for folks who want to be involved with Starship Odyssey. Artists, graphic designers, creative writers, playtesters, and more! Please DM me for an invite!

I'm meeting with two people from the solarpunk server today to discuss Starship Odyssey, and I should be able to make good progress on basic moves and playbooks too! Healing from my surgery is going well.

One of the coolest things you can do right now is commission a real artist.

People act like chronic illness is a vacation, where you get to stay in bed & have your needs met by others The truth is it’s a constant battle. Against your body, against ableism, against poverty & against a medical system that doesn’t know how to help you There’s no break. It’s a 24/7 job

All art is fanart All canon is headcanon All text is hypertext

Role-playing games are scavenger media, in which available materials -- whatever's at hand: stuff you've read, stuff you've experienced, stuff you're anxious about, stuff you wish would happen -- are then transformed into an emergent narrative via active engagement by one or more players.

When you’re chronically ill, your baseline is everything. The non disabled can’t possibly fathom the amount of time & energy that goes into maintaining what’s left of our health. It takes ages to make the tiniest gains, and only split seconds to lose them. Be kind. Respect our boundaries.

Wrt the “cozy fantasy discourse”: imo, as with all media, I Like to be able to notice where/how works engage with politic (cuz they all do, even in “Not” engaging) but also we gotta temper that with the nuance of “if you never let your brain Just Vibe at all you might burn out on theory alone”

Here's the power of #Free5e. www.kickstarter.com/projects/wyr... #TTRPG #DnD

"It’s easy to forget that we are the culture. That our voluntary acts—where we shop, what we buy, what we read and watch, what we celebrate and share, how we build communities of care—that those things are what define the culture."

I'm starting to believe that in order to fix society, we should fix popular culture. Escapism cannot offer the right space for unwinding and intellectual stimuli when it's designed by corporations

"[Fanfic is] a celebratory term. This is great. We all love this. In fact, the fanfic games often lead to some of the best design where they work out how best to create games that bring to games what one love in another form. The inspiration and the challenge is the point."

I'm home from my appendectomy. Doing okay. Lots of pain.

In the ER. Appendicitis. Going for surgery later today.

*looks at world, mostly on fire* Anything more I can do directly? Nope. Not really. Well, best do some work to give people cool games and a bit of joy. No hope without joy, no agency without hope, no taking opportunities without agency.

Its an amazingly short trip for some people to go mentally from 'I don't like this' to 'Therefore, there's something wrong with it' and finally 'There's something wrong with people who do like it'

I would add that there are different forms of pain, some of which are much more common to our lived experiences. Some pains are smaller, quieter, but just as worth telling stories about. Cozy fiction gives us space for that.

my biggest little tip for design (game, graphic, visual) is to always be compiling reference all the time. get a folder and fill it with stuff you like. a stack of books or games you like. etc. fill the mind library with work that surprises you

TTRPG, but still relevant. Starship Odyssey models a #solarpunk world that we *could* live in through it's aesthetics, themes, and most importantly mechanics. “The role of the artist is to make the revolution irresistible.” -Toni Cade Bambara

1/7 Hey there, fellow nerds! My name is Chase, and I use she / her pronouns. I'm 31 years old and based in Florida (UTC -5). I have a variety of experiences and would consider myself a bit of a #tech generalist. Here's a list of my skills and experiences so we can see if we can work together!

As if I'm not following enough people, I'd love to follow more #solarpunk & #ecopunk folks, especially artists! Please reply and tag people you know below.

Health issues keeping me up? Guess it's time to work on playbooks!
