The early Web of issues would often take unique and distinct approaches to Spider-Man storytelling. I guess that’s one way to sell a Dominic Fortune story. My copy of Web of Spider-Man #10:

10 years ago this week we marked the Epilogue of “Spider-Verse” with Amazing Spider-Man v3 #15

The WHCA members refused to stand strong with the AP, so now they get to stand alongside bootlickers like Glenn here. I guess that’s where they think they truly belong, and not outside with the real reporters.

I continue to look back wistfully at the Ryan Ottley covers from this era, even if the comics themselves have not always aged gracefully. My copy of Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 5) #13:

30 years ago this week, die-cut covers were all the rage and the Jackal was looking more and more like the Clown Prince of Crime in Spectacular Spider-Man #223

40 years ago this week, Spidey took on the Vulture and the Vulturions in Web of Spider-Man #3

Available to our Patreon subscribers, Dapper Dan and I review the latest issue of Amazing Spider-Man. Peter may no longer be a nihilist, but is “Eight Deaths” picking up steam? Tune in to find out! My copy of Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 6) #68:

Because progressive actually care about issues and ideology while the right consolidates around power.

15 years ago this week a new Vulture appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #623

In this second episode of Amazing Spider-Talk’s Season 7, @dangvozden.bsky.social and I are joined by @donomark.bsky.social where he and I engage in a good old fashioned debate about the marriage of Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson. My copy of Amazing Spider-Man #314:

Great fun! 😄

I’m super excited to debut THE GREAT MARRIAGE DEBATE episode of the Amazing Spider-Talk, wherein @chasingasmblog.bsky.social and @donomark.bsky.social discuss the merits of the Spider-Marriage in the form of a formal debate, and without name-calling! For real! amazingspidertalk.com/2025/02/the-...

45 years ago this week, Spidey and the Human Torch teamed-up against the Frightful Four in Spectacular Spider-Man #42

As great as JRJR can be, if Patrick Gleason is drawing the issue, I shouldn’t have to pick up a variant to get the Patrick Gleason cover. With that said, whatta cover. My copy of Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 6) #35 (Gleason Variant):

It’s probably not a great sign that during the “Clone Saga,” there were two comics that I could reasonably answer “that Sal Buscema Spectacular issue where Peter went crazy on MJ.” My copy of Spectacular Spider-Man #228:

The comic that introduced the world to Francine (still a missed opportunity to have a female Electra… I don’t care that there’s Elektra don’t @ me). My copy of Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 3) #2:

8 years ago this week we got the tragic story of Ben Reilly’s descent in Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 4) #24 @danslott.bsky.social (Don’t think Cammo is on this app)

I'm sorry but I'm just not going to be cowering in fear of these clowns. They suck and they are cruel but they are not God.

I don’t generally post covers from newer “B” books so quickly on this feed, but when I saw this 90s-ified foil variant homage to Venom Lethal Protector, I had to scoop it up. Eddie Brock Carnage #1 (foil variant):

Memmmmoooorrrriiiiiiieeeeees @joequinones.bsky.social crushed this script!!! He, dare I say, went full Morbin Time on it

15 years ago this week, Spidey took on Morbius and the Gauntlet marched on in Amazing Spider-Man #622

Betcha Jonah regrets setting the Scorpion up with those fancy powers, right? He totally learned his lesson. My copy of Amazing Spider-Man #29:

55 years ago this week Spider-Man fought the Kingpin in Amazing Spider-Man #84

20 years ago this week Marvel published the final chapter of its first Spider-Man India mini.

Get caught up on @chasingasmblog.bsky.social and my thoughts on Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 6) #66 in our podcast review of Peter's continuing descent into nihilism, which plunges the world into the chaos of The Blight! amazingspidertalk.com/2025/02/the-...

Not the presidential cover you all know and love, but the first printing Jazzy John cover of the famed “Obama Issue” for this President’s Day. My copy of Amazing Spider-Man #583:

30 years ago this week, What If #72 asked the very important question, “what if Spider-Man was a murderer?”

Spider-Man and Human Torch by Jordan Rodriguez

Listen, there was plenty about the Lee/Ditko origins for the Vulture that were silly, but there’s still nothing that can convince me Chapters One actually meant anything. My copy of Spider-Man Chapter One #3:

Over the years I subscribed to the OG Ultimate Spider-Man series including this period where Spidey “died” and I got to say, it didn’t win me over all that much. My copy of Ultimate Spider-Man #133:

10 years ago this week Spider-Verse ended and Spidey and Silk cuddled by candlelight in Amazing Spider-Man (v3) #14

I got to be honest. Part 12 of “Maximum Carnage” kinda blurs together with the previous five or six chapters but I have to assume that Venom and others wanted to kill Carnage and Spidey was conflicted about it. My copy of Spider-Man #37:

It’s the shocking origin of the Schemer aka Richard Fisk before he was not revealed as the Hobgoblin! My copy of Amazing Spider-Man #85:

50 years ago this week, the Clone of Gwen Stacy returned in Amazing Spider-Man #144 @gerryconway.bsky.social

I feel like the JMS/JRJR run is filled with these random gang members shooting at Spider-Man. Or maybe that’s just a signature Romita thing. My copy of Amazing Spider-Man #507:

I know I’m not always one to give the benefit of the doubt but i really don’t see the point in getting worked up over a solicit that shows Gwen Stacy’s tombstone.

30 years ago this week one of my all time favorite issues of Spider-Man was released: Amazing Spider-Man #400 @jmdematteis.bsky.social and Mark Bagley

35 years ago this week we got David Michelinie and @eriklarsen.bsky.social giving us Punisher, Venom, Black Cat and more in Amazing Spider-Man #331

The Amazing Spider-Talk has dropped episode 1 of our Season 7 in our public podcast feed. In this show Dan and I discuss the “transition period” between the DeFalco/Frenz run and the formal start of the David Michelinie/Todd McFarlane run. My copy of Amazing Spider-Man #292:

I love these stories that remind the reader why J. Jonah Jameson is such a passionate newspaperman. My copy of Spectacular Spider-Man #80:

45 years ago this week, Marv Wolfman and Keith Pollard dropped Amazing Spider-Man #204

I won a good amount of money tonight so fly eagles or whatever

It’s time

The best part about posting these Miles Morales issues in my collection is trying to figure out which volume of which reboot I’m actually looking at after pulling it out of storage. My copy of Miles Morales The Ultimate Spider-Man #4:

Oh man, as if a Spider Slayer story wasn’t already a tough hang, here’s one from the Marv Wolfman/Keith pollard era. My copy of Amazing Spider-Man #191:

Five years ago this week Spider-Verse #5 featuring Spider-Man: Noir by @christosgage.bsky.social and @juanferreyra.bsky.social was released.
