Tonight's film is... Anyone But You. I am currently broken so romcom is the level. It has Glenn Powell, who seems to be the new Armie Hammer i.e. the generic attractive white guy Hollywood execs love to put in everything. Curious to see if he's more than just blues eyes + jawline

Thinking about Midsommar & how it's part of this trend of white male writer-directors making films that feel like an attempt at feminist horror. Midsommar, Nosferatu (2025), Edgar Wright's Last Night in Soho, all fall in that category & fail imo. I haven't seen Alex Garland's Men but seems to fit.

I LOVE John Wick but Ballerina looks tropey in the worst ways. Woman+Ballerina = Assassin movies are never good but Hollywood is obsessed with that equation. Atomic Blonde is one of the few good female assassin films. And this doesn't look like that. We need that Atomic Blonde / John Wick mash up
