🧵Believe your eyes, folks. This is Labour MP Jonathan Hinder blaming “IMMIGRATION” for his Party’s woes at the ballot box. (The John he refers to is John McDonnell MP who blames unpopular Labour polices like cutting winter fuel allowance for Lab’s poor showing)

the government overseeing the biggest attack on LGBT+ rights in almost half a century is full of misogynists???

Fuck yeah, reverse card our ass.

An absolute masterclass in how the UK media platforms and normalises far right politics. This is how Farage wins.

Always worth keeping up the fight and never, ever giving up…

Tory leader wants women to have more children. Women aren't baby-making machines. Improve social conditions, leave choices to women. Tories imposed two-child benefit cap, austerity, real wage cuts; opposing maternity leave/pay; ruined the NHS, housing. Gender pay gap, sexual violence persists.

@michaelmunnik.bsky.social @petroc.bsky.social @annahmeredith.bsky.social @matthewjrudd.bsky.social @tommckinney.bsky.social Hello, would you please consider signing & sharing this letter of solidarity for transgender people from the UK music industry? docs.google.com/document/u/0...

Hope you don’t mind @tonyvaughanmp.bsky.social

@tonyvaughanmp.bsky.social Tony, can you post this here on Bluesky where most of the trans community have migrated to? Thank you 🙏

Trans+ History Week 2025 is here – and not a moment too soon. 🏳️‍⚧️ Trans+ History Week 05–11 May 2025 While courts and commissions debate our existence, our legacy speaks for itself: We’ve always been here & always will be. Thank you 🙏 @thefoxfisher.bsky.social for the illustration 🖼️

After the local elections this is the current state of play of Councillors in the UK. Don't be fooled by our Farage supporting right wing media. Reform are 1 in the pie chart.

There’s something really disturbing to me about the way the media, and indeed her own mother, continue to talk about Brianna Ghey - a constant focus on publicising her mental health, as if she’d committed suicide, and never focusing on the transphobia that actually led to her horrific murder.

This is about all of us. Never forget that.

I fancy shopping at a Co-OP now archive.is/202505041050...

Had to take a step out of my sports writing comfort zone this week to say a thing that needed to be said. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...

"He donated his £3,000 prize money from his BBC Young Musician award to keep the school’s cello lessons going. 'It’s completely different now, if I’m honest,' he says. He still has one sister at the school, and visited her. 'Everything is reduced.'" www.theguardian.com/music/2025/m...

Just flat out lying from Treasury. Water utilities are highly profitable once you strip out debt repayments. And the statutory mechanism for rescuing broken water companies enables DEFRA to strip out debt repayments. 1/2 www.theguardian.com/business/202...

I fight for a world where the first thought average people have about someone transitioning is "wow science is cool" and not "let me share with you my opinions about toilets"

Check. Check. Check. Check. Putin will be so pleased.

The glove puppet has changed but the hand remains the same.

I still find it very upsetting how much trans people; researchers of the far right like myself, etc. were saying this before the general election. When we did, we were told we wanted the Tories to win. The Tories are still in power, even if they call themselves Labour.

This is a reminder to myself: try and post (mostly) things that spread joy or hope or wonder, or things that are useful. I know about the bad stuff, believe me. But *on here* this is what I'm going to try to highlight, for my own sake.

Trans liberation protesters occupy Manchester Victoria station.

Thank you for sharing your truth, Airyn ❤️ You have our support.

Climate change poses a threat to us all - and the evidence clearly shows the need for action. Yet today's Telegraph continues the effort to make this all about one man - & frame urgently-needed climate action as dangerous & extreme... With advertising from Coop, BMW, Trailfinders, Lotto & B&Q

Encourage as many venues as possible to make toilet facilities gender neutral and welcome to ALL. Support those that do, and boycott businesses who want to segregate any marginalised communities like they did in the 1950s. #StopFundingHate

“So noise replaces science. The shouters drown out the quietly knowledgeable. Slogans supplant debate. And once again we allow an ignorant populist to dictate the terms of the argument.”

On Friday evening, we were made aware of an amendment put forward by three Tory MPS to the Data (Use and Access) Bill, that will be voted on on the 7th of May. This amendment, if ratified, would severely infringe on the human rights of trans people in the UK.

It would take a heart of stone not to giggle slightly at people who no doubt campaigned against a feather-bedded elite, now suddenly realising that said feather-bedded elite in Warwickshire gets an annual allowance of…£10,075.

TURN UP FOR OUR TRANS SIBLINGS✊🏳️‍⚧️ We are being attacked and pushed out of public life. I'm tired, upset, scared and angry. This won't end with us,all our struggles are connected. If you really care at all, show your solidarity. If you can't make it, show ur solidarity with your pocket. gofund.me/50c75300

Played at an Arsenal 5-a-side tournament today. Used the men’s changing rooms, as I always have. No one cared. Trans people are not going away 🏳️‍⚧️

Ah, yes, the always-effective Nearly As Much Of An Arsehole As The Total Arsehole strategy.

Carry on using the right toilets. Labour's cruelty is stupid, uneforceable and unlawful. www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Why is @transhistoryweek.com week always held in early May? We chose Trans+ History Day as May 6th and Trans+ History Week as always being the calendar week May 6th sits within because the week they tired to erase us is the week we will remember. History is there to learn lessons from. Read 🧵👇

I am trying to imagine Kemi Badenoch in June 1940. “We shall not yet fight on the beaches,” she might have said. “We are not going to set a random target for fighting in the hills.. we have to consider whether it would mean a drop in our living standards.” www.prospectmagazine.co.uk/politics/con...
