It's hard to gauge the mood of a whole country but sadly I don't think we're yet at the point of mass refusal—and that is what would work: the majority of people downing tools and saying, No. No more: no more work, no more paying taxes, no driving buses, teaching, nursing... General strike.

NEW—After a day of uncertainty on where agents took Tufts student Rumeysa Ozturk, she appears to be in a Louisiana facility. 1400+ miles from Somerville, Massachusetts, where she was taken. A judge ordered to not take her out of state without 48 hour notice. She was detained last night.

It’s actually even worse than that - the LAFD budget is only 1/3 of the LAPD’s. LAFD and the county FD have to fundraise for supplies while the LAPD collects millions in overtime. Inmate firefighters, until recently, were not able to be hired as firefighters once released.
