The thing we learned from Web2 is that the most impactful businesses became the most impactful by optimizing for addiction. Which means we should all ask, how would you optimize generative AI for addiction? Whatever makes it the most addictive is probably what it will become.

OK, gonna throw this spicy bomb out there. If you're fortunate enough to have disposable income, then right now it is your duty to use that income wisely. You have agency over how you spend it and you should own how you spend it. Your decisions do, in fact, affect stock prices of big corporations.

Side-note: I am an old soul, which is probably apparent enough, but I've noticed a fair deal of folks express that they are only interested in novel things. I, for one, think it's cool to look backward at least enough to see how the world *has* changed and not just how it *is* changing.

I've been thinking a lot about that bumper sticker which says "everything looks like a conspiracy theory when you don't understand how anything works" and folks it's pretty obvious to me that the people in power right now have absolutely no desire to understand how anything works.

Every AI product right now is just Thneeds and the executives telling you to use them are just Oncelers (and they don’t even have the decency to be hot about it or something)

Glad I’m not the only one that thinks of home star runner in the modern day.

In light of Trump II’s first 18 days of mayhem — including his and Musk’s coup against our system of government — many are asking: “What can I do now?” Here’s a revised and expanded list, in rough order of importance.

The most important thing I can tell everyone that I've learned from being a YouTuber who explains how stuff works is that each and every time I thought "this is common knowledge and doesn't need to be explained" I was wrong.
