How I spent my weekend. No Regrets!🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️🏴‍☠️ #LikeADragonPirateYakuzaInHawaii

Still neck deep in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but I couldn't resist Avowed. PS Having a blast. Tell you what, though. With all these swords, pistols, and lizardmen island shenanigans, I'm getting mad Risen 2: Dark Waters flashbacks!😲 Aaaand Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is out Friday!🤪

Just pulled off a double-duh. Using my laptop while watching a video on my iPad, I tapped the laptop screen to select something and followed it up by wiggling my laptop mouse in an attempt to click on the video pause.🧠💨

Hearing all the discourse on the changes and 'improvements' in Civilization VII is really making me want to play some Civilization VI.

Completed the new No Man's Sky expedition 'Titan' earlier. Not as bad as the last one but then it didn't have any new gameplay loops to show off either. It highlighted the later stage purple planets and allowed me to experience them without going through the whole game. Verdict? 🤔🤷

Love me a good cosy game so I was stoked today to find out that 'FANTASY LIFE i: The Girl Who Steals Time' is in fact coming out on multiple platforms (Switch, PC, PS4/5, Xbox), with cross-play multiplayer too.🎉🥳🍾 Roll on May 21st!

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is bought and underway! The usual suspects obviously got their knickers in a twist about the *optional* 'friendship+' aspects of the game regarding Henry and Hans. Me, I don't care. One thing though, how?! Hans is soooo annoying! He won't peri-my-winkle any time soon.

Since Jan 20th, I've found the sheer quantity of DOOM is massively outpacing my ability to SCROLL.

Today's doodle from the past is the cartoon anthropomorphic ingredients of the Kabob Krew! #art #affinitydesigner #vectorart

That didn't take long! It seems someone has already modded out the save restrictions (to some extent) in Kingdom Come: Deliverance II.👍👍😍👍👍

Kingdom Come: Deliverance was not an insta-buy for me at launch. I'd heard about the save system (the need to craft potions to save) and knew it'd cause me to quit the game prematurely. Wasn't until it was modded out that I finally grabbed the game. The sequel has the same system. I will wait...😒

Okay, took the plunge into #Godot with Brackeys 'How to make a Video Game - Godot Beginner Tutorial'. Hoping some of it sticks but at least that scary first step is over with. Familiarising myself with the basic principles of the engine seems like a good idea.

Wondering if my brain is too old to add programmer glop to all my artist glop and gamer glop. Been eyeing #Godot and day dreaming about creating.

It's 4°C out and I've just heard the jingle of a very optimistic ice cream van.❄️🌡️🍦

Just finished 'The Curse' expedition in No Man's Sky and, yeah, it ain't my favourite of the bunch. Don't get me wrong, I very much appreciate the sleek new ship you get as a reward, but I just found the expedition as a whole rather annoying more than anything. Perma-storm as gameplay? Not for me.

Okaaaaay. Feeling it might have been a mistake to watch the first two episodes of the new 'Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man' on Disney+ the day after Spider-Man 2 was released on Steam. Haven't bought it *yet*, but man, the pull is strong!😧 #thwip

Blowing the dust off another past piece, here's a construction timelapse of my cute creeping zombie artwork. #art #affinitydesigner #vectorart #timelapse

While PlayStation games being ported was a great for stalwart PC users, the more recent requirement of a PlayStation Network account rubbed a lot up the wrong way. No worries. Seems like Sony are taking a 'carrot' approach and making it optional, offering some in-game content to entice people.

Are game jams like sneaky crunch time training camps for fresh-faced devs?😜

YouTube recommendations had devolved into an endless cycle of videos about car repair and toads eating centipedes.🤢 Never shown interest in either! Had bright idea of deleting my watch history. Sorta fixed things. Downside - now all the '100 days' and 'iceberg' gaming channels are back.😒

Aaaaaand, I've just noticed that there's now a page on #Steam for the PC port of Spider-Man 2, dropping in less than a week on the 30th Jan. Too many (good) big games, too little time!

Missing from my 'Uh-oh, big games, close release window!' post was another two a lot of people are kinda excited about... Sid Meier's Civilization VII - 11th Feb Monster Hunter Wilds - 28th Feb The first one I love, the second I want to love but whaling on the same critter for half an hour?🤔😮‍💨💤

Always used to feel it was a design failure in action games if the main character had to constantly back away from enemies while shooting. And then the whole 'so-and-so survivor' genre sprung up around the game mechanic. Happy for people who love those games but it still don't sit right with me.

Weird little panic attack earlier where I wasn't sure if the UFO Catcher minigame was returning in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. Avoiding footage as to not 'spoil' things has its downsides! Cue hunt and yes, it's (obviously) still in the game. Here's Majima in Anaconda Shopping Center...

Another older doodle for today. Here we see an excitable astronaut exploring Jupiter (shown actual size - a lot of people think it's bigger but really, it's not).🌚🔭👨‍🚀 #art #affinitydesigner #spaceart #oc

A good problem to have? I love *big* games. Immersive adventures, exploration, triple-digit hours spent! But yeah, the next few weeks are a bit STACKED... Final Fantasy VII Rebirth - 23rd Jan Kingdom Come: Deliverance II - 4th Feb Avowed - 18th Feb Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii - 20th Feb

One minute the gaming industry is proudly boasting that they're worth more than the TV, music and film industries combined, the next they're 'hoping' the hype around GTA 6 could give them an excuse to raise the default price of games. I foresee a trend of 'perceived flops' as people wait for sales.
