Dunno about you, but I love some of the amazing photos of space we get to see from #Hubble, #Webb and the many spacecraft we have sent out into the solar system. So happy to see this wonderful account has hit 1,000 followers (and I highly recommend the other accounts managed by @redshift.pics)!

NASA's James Webb Space Telescope on Flickr (Jul 12, 2022) Explore the Southern Ring planetary nebula as Webb captures a dying star and its companion in stunning detail with MIRI. flic.kr/p/2nxKUXk

Firefly’s Blue Ghost lander captures a lunar eclipse as seen from the moon… a solar eclipse from the moon’s perspective… in today’s Astronomy Picture of the Day. Absolutely stunning! ❤️🌕

I'm intrigued when accounts like @tomfay-official.bsky.social follow accounts like @k01h01.bsky.social 🤔

Latest Webb image... wow! 🙂

#WomenInStem The Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope is NASA's next major space observatory. A bit like Hubble, but with a view around 100 times larger! It's designed to study dark energy, find exoplanets, and map the universe in detail.

Alfred, the most lazy bugger of a cyclone ever, sitting off the Brisbane coast noon Wednesday. Friday afternoon now... still sunshine and blue skies here (the Gold Coast and hinterland, and northern NSW, are getting a pounding). Predicted to cross the coast just north of Brisbane tomorrow morning.

Today's Astronomy Picture of the Day... an awesome Hubble photo of the starburst galaxy Messier 94! 🙂

Seems somehow relevant again 🙂

This is very cool... and in a couple of hours we get to watch the landing! ❤️🌚

One reason including credits (and preferably a source) is so important with astronomical images... here's an example of an account posting a supposed "JWST" image (which does the rounds fairly often). No credits, and no source, because it's fake. A shame... the genuine image is far better...

Seems fair!

My email to [email protected]...

I followed the construction of the James Webb Space Telescope, and later the Roman Space Telescope, and one name kept popping up over and over in the photo credits... James Gunn. If you check out @roman-telescope.bsky.social or @webb-telescope.bsky.social, you'll see a lot of his incredible work.
