This you? Try this! The BlueSky algorithm is problem solving for me today.

Yeah, cool, let's uh, let's go plunder some mountains. It definitely worked out well for the dwarves in Moria who dug a tad bit too greedily & just a little too deep and awoke from the darkness of Khazad-dûm some... [checks notes] ...uh, Shadow & Flame. No problem.

I for one am disappointed in my social studies classes for failing to teach us about that clause in the Constitution which states that after a period of 235 years, the president may cast off the burden of democratic governance & just go wild dabbling in autocratic forms of rule.

Can't remember the last time it snowed this much here! The brutal beauty of winter is striking true, and I just want to write a cozy fantasy set in a cottage in the woods where two witches fight over one blanket while the storm rages on outside...

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched Honestly, a fun week of movies! A new favourite I can't believe it took so long to get to, A film going through an amusing identity crisis, A solid investigative drama, & A personal forever favourite.

If you've never experienced the charm of CHARADE, I'd highly recommend it, especially with Valentine's Day around the corner! The kind of comedy thriller/mystery we don't get anymore (at least not at this caliber with two real movie stars charming their way through every scene) #FilmSky

My proudest accomplishment of February so far is convincing my sister to binge the first season of Severance. Now to catch her up on the new season so she may suffer with me through the weekly drop.

SEVERANCE!!! Gah! It's thrilling to watch a show that can take risks without breaking narrative coherence.

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched Started weak, but ended VERY strong. Saturday Night was more of a tribute than a movie; Anastasia had potential -- which was largely realized in the animated adaptation; Spaceballs was a charming delight; and Whiplash was a tour de force on so many levels!

So very excited to dive into this one!!! Happy Book Birthday 🥳

A new day, a new reason to bang one's head against a wall.

Nothing helps one escape the stress of the real world like watching a movie where one person's stress is their whole world. #FilmSky

Needed a good laugh tonight, so put on this gem. #FilmSky

I keep thinking about all the people, queer and not alike, who insisted asexuality and aromanticism weren't oppressed identities or didn't count as queer while here the feds are intentionally erasing us.

A long time ago, in a galaxy, far, far away... UH-OH! The spiteful President fulfils his promise to be a dictator on day one. He strikes mercilessly at those diametrically opposed to his white nationalist agenda & threatens economic warfare upon his mightiest enemies: Canada & Meals on Wheels...

Watched the 1956 Anastasia with Ingrid Bergman & Yul Brynner that the animated musical was adapted from. Just validated my belief that we should stop wasting our time with live action remakes & invest instead in animated musical remakes (2D preferably!) #filmsky

Fantasy, Romance and Poetry books by black authors #booksky #blackbooksky

Books by Black authors for this month and every month ❤️ Read Black books all year round #blackbooksky #booksky #fantasybooksky #blackhistorymonth

It was a big rewatch month for sis & I, but we managed to finally watch two classic gems of their genre that have become favourites for us both! #filmsky

A dose of childhood nostalgia; A fascinating take on the wrong man trope; An energetic and stylish time loop narrative (also my favourite first watch of the month); & An evergreen favourite! #LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday #FilmSky

Rewatching all these classic musicals (especially the Gene Kelly ones) and it's painfully clear that (most) musicals today lack their same charm and energy. A lot of that comes down to the dancing. Actors would sing for two minutes, then dance for five. All movie long. Bring it back 🥺 #FilmSky

I am here for Hot Modern Prometheus Autumn!

This is where I post from.

Fascinating glimpse into Letterboxd demographics, I think. 6 films from within the last 11 years. 3 from the 90s. 1 from the 80s. OOF! Nothing older than 1989 is hurting my heart. #filmsky

There is such danger in walking. One never knows when an idea will simply strike and curse them with one more story they do not have the time to write.

Stayed up until midnight finishing this one. Wasn't expecting to be emotionally wrecked by its exploration of grief & loss. @authoroux.bsky.social brings so much depth to these characters between and within scenes of vivid, propulsive action.

Just watched RUN LOLA RUN for the first time! What an exhilarating gem of a movie. Propulsive action set to a brilliant score, completely its own. Can't believe it's taken us this long to get to it. #FilmSky

Why don't we make family movies like this anymore?? With stunning cinematography, strong women who don't need to rely on (only) swords to solve their problems , and relationships based on intellectual & emotional connections and not just 'they're hot'. Big *le sigh* #FilmSky

#LastFourWatched #LetterboxdFriday Some fun nostalgic revisits. An Oscar contender. And a first time viewing of a masterpiece. Not too shabby at all :)

In a weird place today, so I'll be writing some fanfic(s). Some days, you just gotta do what you gotta do.

A little motivation for your Sunday from David Lynch 🤍

Words you feel the weight of 🖤

Ah, David Lynch! That's a gut punch to the soul.

Revisited a childhood favourite for some needed nostalgia boost this evening with lil sis... ...And it was perfect!

I largely enjoyed Skeleton Crew, though that ending was really abrupt & slightly unsatisfying. Mostly, I'm just frustrated this wasn't a movie. Whittled down to two hours & with a full production budget behind it, I really think it's the kind of film that could have gotten people in theatres.

I REEEEAAAAALLLLLLY need that UK modifier to immediately change to global. Pretty please and thank you 😇

Post your favorite #DoctorWho. Wrong answers only.

I've been told that we all have a story inside of us... ...but what happens when you have thousands, and they're all screaming for attention at the same time, and you don't know how to choose one over the others because they're all making great points for why they should be picked right now?!?!?

Traitors is the chaotic camp we deserve right now. I'm already mourning the day it's over...

#LetterboxdFriday #LastFourWatched One of these is not like the others... 😅

Sis & I have one big goal this year: to complete production on our first feature film. The story is one we've been working on for 10 years, a gothic horror set in 1990s Quebec about identity & legacy & cycles of violence. Can't wait to share more as that dream comes true...
