just a little update: been busy adding features to campaign mode so that I can update a few screenshots for the upcoming RTS fest on steam next week 🙏 also I got multiplayer lobbies working on steam

Ok the only issue I had with upgrading to Godot 4.x was terrain (autotiles in 3.x) being a bit too slow to update at runtime. But @portponky.bsky.social's BetterTerrain plugin made it considerably faster and I can later switch to the GDExtension version to make it even faster 🥳

Almost done porting my game from godot 3.x to 4.x :) Can confirm they're VERY different. Pretty much everything got changed. The new APIs are much cleaner!

In the past month alone, over 12M people joined Bluesky, with daily active users growing 10x. We received more reports in two days than in all of last year, and have integrated new systems and quadrupled our moderation team to try and keep up. Sometimes, we have to work quickly to correct errors.

I miss the era of short 2-5 min YouTube videos 😔 Creators are heavily incentivized to make them at least 10 min long, or more. Now I'm forced to watch all videos at 1.5x or 2x speed...

PSA if you like engine vanity data: Please ship your games on Steam with .exe + .pck, not with the "Embed PCK" single binary option. SteamDB detects engines based on the files listing, and .pck files are the only reliable marker of Godot games.
