Hey #VGM friends, I have a question for you about cover lengths. I vaguely recall a 5 min limit being a thing - is that something imposed by distributors just to keep things simple because compulsory mech licenses cost variable amounts more for anything >5 min? Or are there additional/other reasons?

Finally servicing the piano - here are some BTS shots! Last pic shows one mechanism which differentiates grands from uprights - allowing repeated notes without fully lifting the key. There is a pad-like sensation when pressing down keys as a result. Uprights use springs to reset hammer positions
