Before (2021) / After (2025) the Rue aux Écoles in Rue de Florence in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, pedestrianized in 2022. Note the window protection, possibly linked to the fact the street became much more livelier after the change.

Just a solar garden in the middle of a busy subway station which also has clean bright restrooms, lockers for storage, hot food for sale, some services (shoe repair etc), card machines that work (also deposit refund), and smart fare gates. Living like we do in NYC is a policy choice
