"Is there another industry in the world where the buyer is willing to spend thousands of dollars and gets ghosted?" Great read by @kevinbullock.bsky.social kbullock.substack.com/p/welcome-to...

Wow, great resolution comparison!

I have decorate much of my career to satellite πŸ›°οΈ data. So, at first I thought this was different images (band combinations) of center pivot agriculture. ⭕️ πŸ‘©β€πŸŒΎ πŸ‘¨β€πŸŒΎ 🌾 🌽

When my house and community burned - where was the satellite information? A very raw blog post I am putting up so folks in the satellite, geospatial and tech fields can listen firsthand why I think we are failing the situations that need us the most. www.linkedin.com/pulse/when-o...

I think #STAC API search parameters, with extensions, can be a "lingua franca" for geospatial search, regardless of whether the underlying data store is STAC. Here's the search parameters I'm talking about: www.gadom.ski/stacrs/lates... Reasoning in 🧡

How different can two reasonable pansharpening algorithms be? Pretty different in pathological cases like planes in flight. Left is from Maxar, right is from Potato (the thing I’ve been tinkering with). Same underlying data, from the Maxar Open Data Program, CC BY-NC.

There is a common conda-forge/staged-recipes repo which you have to commit to to get your package published. A simple @ conda-forge in a PR just started a reply-all thread to 6500 authors which get an email for every reply, and people are having fun with it :D

python-build-standalone has exploded in popularity, with over 70M downloads all-time. But what is a "standalone" Python build? It wasn't obvious to me at first! Initially, I didn't understand what problem was being solved or why it mattered...

Add one thing to the docs. Restructure&rewrite 1/4 of the docs.

The bluesky follower bridge browser extension is really awesome. Download extension for your browser, in bluesky under settings/privacy&security create an app password. Go to your twitter "following" page, open the extension, enter bluesky username & app password. Then it scans, follow with 1 click!

#BostonPublicLibrary is such an exciting space! Whenever I'm here, I am reminded of Zadie Smith's observation that public libraries are one of the last few places on the high street where one can spend time for free. These spaces provide so many vital public goods 😍

I didn't see this already, so I went through my follow list and made a Starter Pack for Women+ in geo & EO - very broadly. I'm reminded how lopsided the gender divide is still in our field when I get 1 woman follower for every 10 men. It's particularly noticeable right now. go.bsky.app/Ay1iTTe

This is such a good documentary about the tech behind Microsoft Flight simulator, loved the world map generation parts! Also cool personal connections for me: Just 2 days ago drank beers with 2 devs who did work on the building modeling for FS. And my uni professor was involved in the SRTM mission!

We closed two great days at #SatSummit in the best way possible, with some impromptu drinks at the beach. It doesn't get any better than this

This Bluesky follow finder is super neat. It finds folks you don’t follow who follow folks you follow. So it helps fill in your network. It’s the type of cool stuff enabled by an open ecosystem. bsky-follow-finder.theo.io
