My avatar Goth cat is very much looking forward to the local goth night in Brighton tonight but can’t decide which hat to wear. He’s tempted to wear his MAGA hat as a protest against Trump’s inauguration on Monday but not sure if people will get the irony in which it’s intended?

The narrative below that the #LAfires are bringing people together needs emphasising in order to counter the myth that anti-social behaviour (such as looting) increases after disasters. Most research shows that crime rates fall during & after mass emergencies

Racialised media reports of looting happened after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans whereby it was more likely to be called ‘looting’ if done by African Americans. Seems the same mistake is being repeated in LA now

Around 5 years ago, reports started to emerge from China of a deadly new virus… so much was about to change. Since then, we have published around 250 articles, interviews and more on Covid. Now we have collected them here www.bps.org.uk/collections/... …with much more to come in January…

All my work is open - and you can use images from it without seeking my permission as long as it is correctly cited. Every week I get requests in relation to COM-B or the Behaviour Change Wheel. No need to request- the answer is always yes! #OpenScience

Me too

When I left X, I left 260000ish followers who cared about the NHS. This is bad because the NHS is in a state of emergency and EveryDoctor has just launched an important petition. If you can see this, please could you follow me and share this? 🤞💙🚨

If anyone has the text alert sent to mobiles about #stormDarragh would they mind sharing with me via DM pls? I’m interested in seeing how it was worded- Thanks!

Is it 10,000 or 40,000? How to count a big crowd. Features extracts from conversation I had about crowd dynamics with Kenny Katie from Radio New Zealand @uniofbrighton.bsky.social www.rnz.co.nz/news/what-yo...

This protest in New Zealand is big. If Police estimates of this crowd are correct (& they often underestimate crowd size on protests) then that means nearly 1% of the entire population of NZ attended & this would be similar to over 1/2 million in the UK per capita #Hikoi

I think I am up to date with added everyone - but if I have missed you, plz let me know

Shame that Hancock wasn’t asked about the follow up message “Stay alert, control the virus, save lives” which was widely ridiculed by emergency planners, who rightly questioned what does “stay alert” actually mean?! #UKcovidinquiry www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cm...
