It seems to me in the current context that a more biblical analysis is wanted: that the law of Moses makes the king subject to the law, not vice versa.

There is a foundational choice we all must make in life: will we join in with those who use violence & abuse to gain wealth, or do we reject that option? The one leads, we hope, to a rule of law society in which we live in safety. The other leads to Mafia societies ruled by thugs & their henchmen.
