Repost with the five shows you would be happy to rewatch over and over again for the rest of your life, as your sole TV diet: Babylon 5 Doctor Who Bojack Horseman Mad Men Person of Interest

I made this meme less than three months ago for something entirely different yet somehow it's relevant again 🙃

It continues to amuse me that the industry that specializes in automating millions of transactions a second and crunching large amounts of unstructured data is like "Automatically identify copyright owners, ask permission, parse their replies and use only yes responses? Unpossible! Inconceivable!"

Oh, did we mention we're at London ComiCon? 💅

Written as if the Guardian hasn't had a role on creating the environment where this was possible. 🙄

Not gay as in "I empathise with the plight of the X-men" but queer as in "Magneto was right"

“Between 1933 and 1945, an estimated 100,000 men were arrested for homosexuality in Nazi Germany. Some 50,000 were sentenced for their so-called crimes and an estimated 5,000-15,000 gay men were sent to concentration camps.” www.thepinknews.com/2025/05/19/l...

I look at FB very occasionally because Bona has a FB page and... my feed has suddenly become misogynistic, jingoistic, low-key racist shit? It's like someone flipped a switch. Like MULTIPLE nostalgic posts about Golliwogs covered with "we didn't have racism back then" comments. Whaaaaaaaaa?

Genuinely proud of my camera work on this one. IYKYK 🍑

So, um. Yes. If you need me, I'll be ticking "glowing review in Lightspeed" off the bucket list! 😳😲🥰

It's Book Quote Wednesday - this week's word is CRY We've got an achingly beautiful passage from @meakoopa.bsky.social's Choose-Your-Own-Adventure SF epic poem, "Ganymede". Two boys, kidnapped by a cult, find one another in the night. #bookqw #BookQuoteWednesday #BQW 🪐📚🌈📚💙

In 2015, the UK was the leading country on LGBTI human rights in Europe according to IGLA-Europe, with 86%. In 2025, we have dropped to 46%.

genuinely heroic act of civil defiance. frightened for her though.

Three weeks until we close, folks. If you haven't submitted yet, get polishing! 🥰

"Textbook stuff again, you see. The criminals' vanity always makes them make one tiny, but fatal, mistake. Theirs was to both record a video of them chopping down the tree, where they can be clearly heard saying 'Here we are, chopping down the tree'."

Genuinely did not have "dealing with bootleg merch" on my "starting a queer small press" bingo card.

The 2nd phase of the Genre Creators for Trans Rights auction will go live just after midnight 2 May running til June 7 2025, with all new lots from genre creators being added regularly and proceeds to new trans charities. If you would like to donate something to be auctioned, please get in touch.

I'm overwhelmed and overjoyed 🤩🥹💜 In less than a day, over 350 historians signed this call for the UK's Labour government to stop its attacks on trans people. The letter will be open for more signatures today and over the weekend. Please share widely to your historian friends/colleagues!

Yes, this. No Worldcon is perfect but Glasgow came closer than most.

I know it's tempting to do the 'EVERY SINGLE WORLDCON IS TRASH' thing. But imo the Glasgow team hosted a genuinely great event & deserve better. They quashed an attempted vote rigging, they established transparent Hugo processes, and their programming was thoughtful, accessible and exciting 1/3

It’s indie press day and I would be deeply remiss if I didn’t take the time to celebrate them. Indie presses are putting out incredible books. Some great presses to start with are Flame Tree Press, @lunapress.bsky.social @wtpress.bsky.social Black Shuck Books, @elsewhen.press

This is no longer open to doubt. The aim of GCIism/TERFery is and always has been to remove all trans people from society,to eradicate even the idea of trans existence. As the late Mr Bowie put it, this is not rock and roll. This is genocide.

It's May Day and the inaugural #IndiePressDay (organised by the awesome folks over at @elsewhen.press). Bona Books only exists because we wanted to carve out a space in the UK for queer-run queer rep in SFF. Trad pub wasn't cutting it, and so here we are. That's the power of Indies. 🪐📚🌈📚💙

After what happened with the Worldcon in China (with regards to the Hugos), you just decided to say “Hold my beer” and go all-in with the VERY THING that the creative community has been fighting for the past couple of years. Y’know, that thing that’s STOLEN their work? Fuckin’ hell, read the room!

Had the privilege of being on a panel with Emily at Eastercon where she talked about The Incandescent, and it sounded *fabulous*. One of those brilliant concepts you can't believe hasn't already been done ("magic school novel... from the POV of a teacher") And, oh look - critics love it too 🥰

Hugo-nominated critic Roseanna Pendlebury at NOAF on class, charm, Englishness, and bisexual rep in The Incandescent: "This is a story that understands how class is the underpinning, the bedrock, upon which these sorts of institutions thrive and survive."

What my various inboxes are full of. 👇🏻 Screw the so-called Labour Party; screw the so-called EHRC; and screw the so-called Supreme Court: you've not made even one woman safer but you're causing great cruelty to tens of thousands of people leading blameless lives.

Some more scenes from @transprideports.bsky.social demo today.

"As such this meeting ... reminds the Supreme Court of the existence of intersex people." Well. Quite.

Reposted with alt text. Of course, what do *checks notes* Doctors know about human biology?

This is incredible.💗🏳️‍⚧️ Rhianna Pratchett and Rob Wilkins spent the whole week digging through Sir Terry Pratchett's archives to find an incredibly rare signed first edition of Monstrous Regiment for the Genre for Trans Rights charity auction. bit.ly/genrefortrans. It's already over £1000!

Newly up on the Genre for Trans auction, a signed hardback of the iconic MONSTROUS REGIMENT donated by @rhi.bsky.social www.32auctions.com/organization...

Give me elevatored horror, where a group of wall street types are all trapped inside a skyscraper possessed by Mammon, who uses the elevators as his many mouths to rend and tear the bankers apart but not before they're subjected to an infinity of cosmic horror beyond human ken.

For Lithgow’s analogy to work, imagine if Dahl had used his public platform and hundreds of thousands of pounds to make policy and law more hostile to Jews and become the world’s most influential antisemite

If you want to know how serious our decline in the UK, when North Carolina did what the Labour Government and EHRC have done, the then UK Government told LGBT+ people to beware travelling there. (Credit to @kazhawa.bsky.social.) www.voanews.com/amp/uk-issue...

I’m a trans man. If my football team followed the EHRC guidance for our match today, I would have had to change in a separate room and use a separate toilet. Ultimately, I imagine the EHRC would like to ban me from playing on the same team as cis men. We say no. Trans rights are human rights 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍⚧️

You have to fuck up your equalities posture pretty damned badly as a country for fucking WETHERSPOONS to come out as inclusive 🙃

What fucking bullshit is this? Telling gay groups who they’re allowed to include? Fuck you, EHRC. Fuck. You.

Just finished this fantastic book. It's got the best cover art I've seen in a long time and it's full of great stories. Thank you to @trip.bsky.social @chrismccartney.bsky.social and Rob for putting it together. This was such a fun read! Can't wait for Wrath Month.
