BSFA Awards voting closes on Friday and Nebula nominations close at the weekend. If the work of any of our brilliant authors chilled, fulfilled or thrilled your dear, queer hearts, now's the time to let it be known!

Oh yes, Homer’s famous “Tes Thdpssssps.” 👍🏻

"You can’t do a randomized trial of something that we already know is safe and effective. There would have to be a placebo group that didn’t get vaxxed. Unethical." Yet that is exactly what the UK is doing with trans healthcare for kids

I never thought leopards would eat *my* face, etc. It would be enraging if it wasn't so tediously fucking predictable.

This is a bit fucking rich coming from The Guardian. The very paper that shoved transphobia down our throats for years in the interests of "balance" and "hearing from all sides" is now pretending that they were never part of that moral panic and they saw through it immediately. Yeah...right.

A week ago, I was angry and demoralised after yet another mainstream media article erased decades of women's SF & Fantasy writing and minimised our current work in the genre. Asking why bother carrying on writing to be dismissed? These letters and the response to them have answered that. Thank you.

Keith Haring died of AIDS aged 31 on 16 Feb 1990. One of his last works, Unfinished Painting, was deliberately incomplete, reflecting the devastating, unquantifiable loss to the arts due to AIDS. #LGBTplusHistoryMonth

This continues to bring so much joy. Moar stories. MOAR 🥰

In belated honour of Valentine's Day, we offer some, uh, 'romantic' IWTTO! excerpts. Ahem. 👀 💙📚

Bona Books loves to throw a great party, so we're always looking for a good excuse! Coincidentally, here is a list of our award-eligible work from 2024, and the relevant categories. If you enjoyed any of it, please consider including it in your nominations! 👉👈

Received an email offering Bona Books the services of a "Reputation Manager", and O, how I wish I had never turned the first page of the King in Yellow. I cannot now forget Carcosa, where black stars hang in the heavens. I see a Lethal Chamber upon every street-

One could argue it only received half a Booker, but that just reminds me of the *other*reason that decision was enraging. 🤣

Bona Books' first collection is filled with such a wonderful variety of short stories. I cannot wait to see what they put together for this Wrath Month collection. If you've got a short story that fits, submit!

Choose 20 plays/musicals that have stayed with you or influenced you. One show per day for 20 days, in no particular order. No explanations, no reviews, just a cover or poster. #TheatreSky 1/20

Not to reveal my voting intentions, but, like... duh. 💙

Why not?

Tordotcom do very good work and I love many of their authors, but do please remember there's other novella publishers-- NewCon, Neon Hemlock, Titan, Raw Dog Screaming, GigaNoToSaurus...

SA allegation against another SFF writer/booktuber and Google self-immolating, all before I've had any coffee. Thanks, world! Let's focus on some nice things now please...

Reminder for folk who attended Glasgow Worldcon: you can vote in this year's Hugo awards, and they've just opened for nominations!

I really thought those "do not comply in advance" admonitions were stupid and unnecessary yet here everyone is, complying in advance.

The great writer @aliettedebodard.com is going through an awful situation, so a bunch of us put together a funding link to help. (I’ve been asked not to add to what she’s said here.) Do give whatever you can, and please spread the word. www.gofundme.com/f/helping-al...

Always surprised to encounter this video in the wild, but it is indeed a work of pure 80s genius 🤣

Off this afternoon to see a play that melds classical Greek theatre, textual criticism, poetry, homosexuality, A.E. Housman and late-victorians - with a cameo from Oscar Wilde. I'm sure it is possible for a more 'me' plays to exist, but I have not yet encountered it.

So honoured that our book has been longlisted, and so proud to have done this with @robwillb.bsky.social and @chrismccartney.bsky.social and all our wonderful contributors and readers!
