I do not care to listen; obloquy injures my self-esteem and I am skeptical of praise.

1. Put a dead cat on the railroad tracks 2. Said I'll never snitch 3. Poisoned all the water in the wishin' well 4. Tore a bolt of lightning from the side of the sky 5. Drove all the way to Reno on the wrong side of the road

Saw this idea: *Supported & defended the Constitution of the US against all enemies foreign & domestic *Bore true faith & allegiance to same *Took this obligation freely, w/o any mental reservation or purpose of evasion *Well & faithfully discharged duties of the ofc on which I hold *So help me God

I don't think people realise how hard Why Everything Stopped Working (2026, penguin random house, I'm writing a book) is going to go. It will make some people very upset, but it's necessary to tell you who made everything stop working and why. My editor is as radicalised as I am. She's incredible.

How am I dealing with... <gestures vaguely at all of it/>... you ask? Well, I'm three episodes into my every-couple-years Black Books rewatch. Dylan Moran can always make me laugh, even amidst... this.

science is the coolest shit ever and the science of mRNA vaccines and therapeutics is up there for “coolest science shit ever” in my opinion

How I sit waiting for you to realise you’ve been poisoned. (I could do this one all day, but here's my pick for the winner.)

Let me take this format for a spin

coming this holiday season

why must this coup be so cringe

It may not be cool or hip in some circles, but we legitimately do need a massive amount of people to run for office. Flood the school boards, councils, county seats, state legislatures, Congress, etc. Big changes at the top happen when the ground shifts at the bottom. And that can start now.

Pre-order now! I have a story in this about Weezer's "Only in Dreams" and being a DJ for my college radio station. Also, it's probably the most sexually explicit thing I've published in a while if you're into that.

“… unless, of course, the people of Boston know they don’t have to open the door to an immigration warrant, in which case Hell and I will stand around with our dicks in our hand like we did in Chicago and LA.”

I have voted in the provincial election. I consulted the strategic voting guidance at votewell.ca and voted along with the recommendation there, despite my preferences being different. Anyone but the Cons. Odds are my riding goes Con anyway, but I've done my bit.

Maybe making America "great again" depends more on supporting democracy, education, science, and global trade as opposed to abandoning Ukraine and Europe, draining research funding, firing scientists, and slapping tariffs on allies. Just a thought ...

Just finished the final proofread of THE LADY, THE TIGER, AND THE GIRL WHO LOVED DEATH and I'm buzzing with excitement! It's surreal to see this story polished and ready. After so many drafts, knowing that soon I'll get to share this world with readers feels both terrifying and wonderful.

Why we should _really_ not let them privatize health care in Canada. (And if you don't think Ford has been rapidly moving us that way in Ontario, you have not been paying attention. Galen Weston thanks you for your willful ignorance.)

Please God can we vote Doug The Thug out? Please?

The greatest trick the corpos played on humanity has been linking consumption to moral status. Read good people, read bad people. Most of all, read.

Movie you've watched more than 6 times, gifs only

Looking at Roger Dean art makes me want to listen to Yes, but I also want fajitas for lunch, and I can't imagine eating fajitas while listening to progressive rock. Why is prog rock antithetical to TexMex food in my head?

The Nazis will Nazi until we punch them in the face.

You know, I like a detective novel. I could talk all day about some classic novels and series(es). Of stuff still being published, one of my favourites is Robert Crais' Elvis Cole / Joe Pike series. The first one (maybe two) are bit superhero-y, but he's improved with every book.

Just as with the previous time Trump was president (and I still can't believe y'all shot yourselves in the foot like this TWICE), the best reporting on what's actually happening is taking place in Teen Vogue.

She goes hard.

Also, while I'm recommending, you should read this. The fact that a sequel is coming makes me very happy.

Also, while I'm recommending indie books, you should get this series. I mean, assuming you like a good mystery and a misanthropic hero (who is fully ACAB and would 100% punch Doug Ford in the nose). (These also have _very nice_ HC editions with a trade dress that conjures old Nancy Drew books.)

These are a very good time, recommended. (I like to read them in e-form as they are released and then buy the omnibus HCs that come out after each three volumes because I still love physical books.)

Several good things are happening according r/fednews so I am going to drop them here. If federal workers are fighting back, how much more us? A thread/

A rare Betteridge's law fail in the wild.

I’m old. I had a strange experience recently trying to explain to a young self proclaimed activist what a phone tree was. that way if any one person’s phone records were caught up they only got 5 or 10 other names and numbers at most. That also is how my name rarely if ever showed up in press.
